Cashrewards - Hotels.com Cashback Pending since Nov 2017

Hi
I was attracted by 10% Hotel.com deal on Cash Rewards, total reward was $100 but it is still pending. ( other smaller $ one from hotel.com are ok, get paid without any delay) It is way over 75 days now. I have contacted support@cashrewards almost every month, no help at all, keep telling me to wait since April……Next time, I will use website voucher directly, no more cash rewards….not worth my effort….
please share your experience, is it just me???

    • Thanks for your suggestion, but to be honest, I don't think Tightarse can help me as CashRewards is now blaming Hotel.com for the delay…..since April….

        I think it's naive to say Tightarse can't help, he's literally the 1 contact that would provide the most help! Even if it's a hotels.com issue, he would provide help on his side to get it sorted out.

    Hi fzxbeetle. Welcome to OzB. Seems forums are always the way rather than direct contact. Feel free to PM me your CR email address. To be clear, I believe you neglected to mention this is an untracked transaction query, correct?

      It was "untracked" transaction according to CR but to be honest, I did everything right at the start ( same as other hotel.com booking at the same time)
      Why it was not tracked, I don't really know but I contacted CR and it was fixed back in Nov 2017

      OK, never mind. I found your account via your OzB username. Let me explain. You lodged a ticket for an untracked hotel transaction. More than likely the sale was attributed to OzBargain, Google, review site, comparison site etc. Cashrewards was not your last click. Still, you made a claim and we've raised a transaction query with Hotels.com who are yet to respond, even though we've followed up a few times for you.

      Without tracking information, it makes it virtually impossible for us to know if you changed, cancelled or completed your booking, and worse still, we get $0 commission for your purchase and $0 for the work we put into recovering your rewards. So while you believe your rewards are 'pending' since November, the likelihood is any commission your sale earned has gone to another channel as explained above. You may have even clicked out of a Hotels.com or 3rd party email or promo link. That's why we have these terms on our Hotels.com merchant page…

      Use of any coupons and/or incentive offers/links (including Amex/Mastercard/Visa discounts) will invalidate any cashback and/or any cashback claims, including our cashback guarantee, unless specifically listed on this site.

      I'll personally send another email reminder tomorrow on your behalf to Hotels.com and hopefully they'll come back to us with a resolution - one way or the other. There's only so much we can do, but we don't give up easily, thus the elongated wait. It's not ideal I know, but if your sale had tracked, we wouldn't be having this discussion. We're not shirking our responsibilities to our members, but when members don't tell the story in full to start with, it always makes us look like the bad guys. Take care.

      • I should tell the story in full here. Sorry TA. On the same night, I processed three transactions (all hotel.com booking for my holiday). All have click history on CR of course. two transactions tracked successfully ( all under $10 only). The $100 one however was untracked. I then contacted CR regarding this, it was added on CR as pending since Nov 2017. I can confirm here that I have never clicked any other link or used coupon on that night…..feel free to reject my claim if you can prove otherwise…….

        I am not blaming CR here, apparently it was my fault but personally I was sick of the whole process. I would rather use hotel coupon instead to get my 10% off for my next oversea holiday….

    Not Hotels.com but my 10% Wotif cashback of $116 just recently came through as expected.

    I don't know why so many people here seem to have problems with Cashrewards, it's always worked pretty well for me.

      Same here, just had $70 clear in to my account from my recent trip using CR on Hotels.com and Expedia.
      Have only had one item not track from the many transactions I’ve made.

      Calculated yesterday that I’ve withdrawn close to $700 from cashrewards so very happy with the experience.

      On that note @TA is there a quick way of seeing the total earnt and withdrawn on the site?

        Hi unco. We actually used to have this feature available and the feedback was that it was a little confusing to (some) members so we made the decision to only show available balance (approved + pending) and available rewards (approved). We have development work ongoing that will revamp the whole 'My Rewards' section of the site to make it a lot more informative and will include the details you're chasing. In the meantime, if you want to know your personal lifetime rewards, fell free to ping me your CR email and I'll shoot them off to you :)
