Instapot as advertised on Amazon Prime

Has anybody purchased or used one of these before?
I've seen them on social media but only just realised that they also ship to Australia.

How does it compare to products already available in the Australian market?

  • Instapot US is only 110V, you need to make sure you get a UK version. the link you have is for a used model on an American Amazon site. I would be wary of this.

    • Ok thanks I hadn't considered this. As they advertised shipping to Australia, I just assumed it would be compatible with our standards.

      • At least make enquiries before purchase :). If you go to the Instapot webite it hs an FAQ that is worth reading about them, which is where it talks about the voltage. I eyed off the Instapot before I bought my Breville Fast Slow Pro and, probably, would've bought the Instapot if they were easy to get out here. You could look at the Amazon UK site to see availability for Instapot through them.

        • Will do. They had massive savings on Amazon yesterday (not sure if it's expired) and wanted to get in on the bargain but was skeptical and thought I'd do my research first.

        • @Melis: Amazon international sites do not ship to Australia anymore (even if it says it does on their site) as it craps out on checkout.

You have to buy product on Amazon.com.au only now (unless you use a forwarding company) - they do offer a limited amount of global stuff but nothing like what you used to be able to purchase from the UK or US of A.

  • +1

I have one. Just bought it off Amazon UK (correct voltage) in late June. Love it!

    • What did it cost you, including shipping and did you have trouble getting stock? They were the two things that put me off, especially as they weren't actually shipping anything when I looked.

      • Also have one from Amazon UK, works great, my only complaint is that the slow cooker function doesn't work properly (things don't heat up enough), it's a common issue. Otherwise no problems. Paid around $200 delivered?

      • Same $ as EightImmortals roughly $200

No trouble with stock. I put in a pre-order about 3 weeks before it shipped.

[edit] Can't comment on the slow-cooker setting as I haven't tried it. I have only used pressure options - which I find fantastic.

        • Thanks for the replies - the stainless steel bowl was very tempting and the fact you can do Yoghurt and Porridge in it, which some of them don't seem to do, also made it attractive. If I hadn't bought my Breville Fast Slow Pro I would be seriously considering importing one. I'm very happy with the Breville device, and I can custom adjust the pressure/time functions if I want to tweak recipes. I have a manual pressure cooker and I hardly used it because I couldn't be bothered pfaffing around with it; but this is more set and forget cooking.

  • There was a phillips premium collection 6l for $179 yesterday on amazon prime day.

  • I’ve got one like this, that is pretty much the same thing, works really well, Instapot is just a brand name for a multi purpose pressure cooker, no need to import, lots of cheap similar items in Australia
