Take a sip and sink into a lounge chair of blackberried, clovey flavour, the texture so soft it's like suede. An ooze of dark chocolate doesn't hurt matters. In all it's warm at heart and generous of spirit. Value takes care of itself.
James Halliday - Wine Companion

Dr John’s Wines are produced by Possums Vineyards, established and owned by John Possingham and Carol Summers in the McLaren Vale wine region. The Willunga vineyard is a picturesque and fertile area between the Sellicks Hill Range and the Southern Ocean. Dr. John’s Willunga Shiraz displays warm summer berry fruits of blueberry and blackberries. The palate is luscious and balanced with spice, dark chocolate and vanilla bean. Hi Salian,
      Why so negative?

    • -1

I'll take 5 of your bullshits, Salian.

      RRP means nothing these days

      • Why focus on rrp dangerdanger?
Who not focus that this is a great wine at the best price (advertised) in OZ at the moment?
        Cheers

        • If RRP is not needed, then why mention it?

Nicks has an old vintage(sold out) at $17.99 so the per bottle price here doesn't seem too unreasonable at $9.90 a bottle.

Who do you use for delivery?

    • Hi iampoor,
We use a company called Hunter Express but we can use Australia Post on request. (Simply write it on the delivery instructions.)

  • $25 from the winery earlier this year and all of last year. Thus, a ~20% recent mark-up to try and make the special sell-off look more attractive.
Even 2 weeks ago, SkyCellars said it was $25 bottle from the winery (Ref: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:9JYRrh…). So a colluded/fake mark-up?

Regardless of the RRP, under $10 a bottle seems like good value

Worth a try i think and the wine cupboard is starting to look a bit empty. Have ordered a case and asked for AusPost delivery which guarantees me an easy pickup option at my local Post Office if the courier decides to not leave it on the front porch.

It arrived quickly. I have tried it. I like it. Good flavour IMO.
