LiitoKala Lii - 402 Battery Charger

Pro:
Are described everywhere, and I'm generally happy with the charger considering the price. But I want to add some minor annoyances which seem to be generally overlooked:

Con:
No recondition ( but is a cheap charger so not expected)

Charges AAA batteries with too high current (my eneloops get too hot to touch. I prefer not to cook my NiMh)

USB output current is too high ( high current means you can't use full capacity of recycled cells)

Despite the promotional pictures, USB output seem to be using ONLY the right-most slot. You can't load the charger with 4 cells for USB output. Using only one cell for USB output means there is a high current drawn from a single cell which means premature charge cutoff due to voltage drop on old or recycled Li-ion cells.

Comments

  • I have the 202 version and my eneloops don't get hot like that at all.

  • Would there be a better alternative that is not too much more expensive?

  • Are there any good deals at the moment?

  • So I figured out a possible solution for overcooking the Eneloops.
Use a low rated power supply. I used a 500mA rated supply and it seemed to make a positive difference.

  • Mine came with a Chinese manual so I have no idea what the Mode button is meant to do. I press it and it doesn't seem to change anything. Still charges at 500mA. I sense holding down the Mode button does something different but not sure.. what.
