Upgrading PC Speakers - Sub Connection Help

Hi team. Have an interesting question for: I own a very old pair of Creative i-Trigue 3400 2.1 computer speakers and am currently upgrading to Edifier s1000db bookshelf speakers - firstly, does anyone have any experience with this make or model?

I have done a lot of Google-ing but cannot find an answer as to whether I will be able to use the sub of the Creative speaker system with the new bookshelf speakers - can anyone point me in the right direction? The ports on the sub of the Creative can be found here: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/8J0AAOSwhJdavaPI/s-l1600.jpg
The edifier s1000db can be found here: https://www.techtesters.eu/pic/EDIS1000DBAEA5/104.png

Thanks in advance.

  • You may find Edifier to sound better without the cheap Creative sub.

  • I doubt it very much. The creative sub includes the amp, remote control writing, etc. You'd have to dismantle it

  • I don't see a sub-out on the Edifier? You could always email their support people and ask if something can be done with a splitter or such?

I love Edifier. They're really nice sounding speakers.
