  • Have you ask/visit Gerry Harvey yet? Or you far from HN, https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/category/refrigeration/f… then sorted by your requirements.

Get one that fits the hole in the kitchen.

    • Get one that is a bit smaller than the hole in the kitchen in case the hole in the kitchen you move to a years time is even smaller.

There’s 2 of us, but we have a (profanity) massive French door fridge with ice machine and water filter. It’s like 1.2 metres wide with twin doors and a slide out chest freezer and 1.9 metres tall. We still fill that bad boy up. Get the biggest fridge you can afford.

Why? That's a lot money and energy wasted in just electricity costs.

I reckon try out the converted chest fridge DIY alternative.

      http://mtbest.net/chest_fridge.html

Requires 10% of normal fridge energy usage or 100 Wh per day.

At this cost you can run nine converted chest freezers to fridges simultaneously and still save money compared to just running one conventional upright fridge.

      • Thats awesome that would be pretty cool to brew beers in too

        • Yup can basically have your own coles/woolworths/aldi on demand at your home for x amount of months throughout the year. Just keep long life / non expiring stuff.

          Doomsday preppers wet dream.

      • Why? because it’s convenient and awesome. I’m not some beareded hippy (profanity) with my fridge in the backyard powered by wind.

I prefer mine on my roof with my solar panels and rodent powered gyro mechanisms.

          They make great milk too..

  • I have a little 120 litre fridge. Cost me $50. Hardly costs anything to run.

It fits almost everything that we use in a week. Only thing it doesn't really fit is a slab of beer. We must remember to put one in every time one is taken out.

    • Which model and brand? Where did you buy it from?

If anyone of you have a shitty old fridge or access to one and a health care card and are in NSW go for this: https://www.energy.nsw.gov.au/energy-consumers/financial-ass… I believe other states may have schemes like this. Otherwise whats on Appliances Online

  • Just get a fridge on Gumtree. People get rid of them for pennies. Make sure it works and buy it. Easy peasy.

    • Just make sure to sterilize it as if something died in it or had a years old worth of expired food in it.

So many horror stories on gumtree with kitchen appliances omg.
