Can Someone Please Suggest a Forum Where There Is Discussion on Shares?

I'm new to the stock market.

Other people's opinions are often useful and carry some weight.

Are there any forums that you use/recommend where people discuss shares? I hope to discuss the prospects of AMP, Afterpay Touch and CBA shares.

Also, I've heard of HotCopper but holy moly, I can't wrap my head around how the website works. I have no idea how to use it!

Thanks

Hot Copper (Https://hotcopper.com.au) isnt bad as you point out but lots of lingo. Whirlpool Finance has a bit. But best to persist on HC.

I suggest please read Intelligent Investor before embarking on discussing shares. :)

Seriously, if you read hear see news forum chat about company xxx going well, it will be reflected already on its price ie too late to buy

Agreed. I'm doing this so I can compare estimates with actual performance.

There is a finance subreddit at reddit.com/r/ausfinance

If OP is going on reddit, surely they should check out /r/wallstreetbets?

Topstocks.com.au is another Aussie based one, not as 'busy' as Hotcopper though. Hotcopper is OK, you just have to find the right forum to post your questions, the individual company threads are OK but can be full of ramping and deramping so IMO you're better off just trying to learn about the market and trading in general. Also checkout babypips.com if you don't mind looking at other markets.

If you ARE serious about it though, give yourself 5 years to learn because 95% of successful trading is all about your psychology and it takes time to learn about it.

There is an 'education' forum on Hotcopper but you need to sign up (free) to see it and post there.
