I would like colour printing, I thought lasers would be out of my price range. I don't know alot about printers though.
Don't be fooled by cheap inkjets. They are like razor blades… they make a loss selling you the machine, then completely screw you over with the ink.
Used to have a colour inkjet… the ink costs drove me crazy. Reason being, ink printers use their ink reserves to intermittently clean their nozzles, so it depletes whether or not you do any actual printing. I had to replace my carriages every 4-6 months even though I printed fewer than 100 pages a year. Even if you're buying 3rd party inks, that still adds up to a lot.
Now I use a mono laser, and am printing 300-400 pages per year. Each original refill costs $120, but that would last about 2 years.
The main advantage colour inkjets have over colour laser is photos do come out better. However, I'd prefer to get my photos printed at the store (either online or in person)… their quality is much better than any cheap inkjet.
