Will Detective Pikachu Work on The Old 2DS Console?

Hi just saw the ad for detective Pikachu on tv. Wanting to play it but don't have a 3ds.

Thinking of getting a pre-owned 2ds from eBay/ebgames just to see a talking pikachu!

Question is does it run on the old 2ds or it only works on the 'New' 2dsxl/3dsxl?

Yes, even the couple of games that require a new3DS will work on the 2DS. The 2DS is basically a new3DS without the 3D.

  Umm no, not the original 2DS (it came out a year before the new 3ds), only the New 2DS XL will run the exclusives.

    oh yeah I wouldn't even consider the plain 2DS. 2DSXL is best value.

Should try the demo version from the eShop first. I thought I wanted it too, until I started playing it. Too kid geared for my liking.
