ALDI Airbrush + Compressor - on Sale 21/7/2018

I saw this on sale at $99 on the weekend. Obviously aimed at the hobby market, which I wouldn't mind using the Airbrush for.
ie is it any good for 15-25mm miniatures?
Also, could you use it to inflate a tyre at home?

  • Do you have a link or photo? Need more details - Tank capacity, how many HP etc..

    • Sorry. I thought there was one on Ozb, but there isn't. It's no longer on the Aldi site either.

I think This is what you are referring to. It will be fine for little models, bike tires and basket/soccer balls. I wouldn't use it for more.

IMO though its not very great value. Id rather spend 20-30 bucks more and get a 2HP with a 30ish L tank.

If the compressor will pump up pressure over your tyre pressure limit, it will do the job. The biggest issue is how long it will take.

Being for airbrushing, it may only be low pressure and low volume. Will try to find out more if I can…

Edit: It appears as though this compressor will do up to 4bar (58psi). That being said, I don't know what it is regulated to. It would do tyres, but just may take a while to do it.

Sure, you could probably use it to inflate a tyre at home, but it is definitely not designed for it.It would not be designed for enough airflow to fill a tyre in a reasonable amount of time.

  • So something like this, if I hook up a Air brush and 12v battery/jumpstarter from kogan?

You'd probably need some sort of regulator for the airbrush setup to keep the pressure down. That unit is designed to pump up tyres as quick as it can. High pressure, high volume.
