I see these are part of the buy 2 get 40% off at Myer, I hear good things and they look nice, but are they significantly better than similar steel water bottles?
Are S'well drink bottles worth the price?

It's a bottle. Sherpas reuse standard bottled water bottles because they're lighter and do the same job, and they collapse when unwanted.

probably not, but 'people' will pay a premium because someone who calls themselves a 'designer' designed it. It could equally come out of the same factory that makes other stainless steel water bottles, but without the fancy label on it.
If you think about it, everything that has ever been manufactured had someone to design it (a designer). It is only marketing that makes any designer get the special 'designer' label.
Have you heard anything about them before?
