[eBay] This Is Ridiculous, Can't Request Seller Contact Any More Even after Payment Is Paid

Hi guys, as of today eBay has removed the ability to request seller contact details after you have made the payment. There is no way to get in touch with the seller if they decided to ignore all of your messages, or scam you and not posting the item.

A dispute case can only be open after the estimated delivery date. Then the case will be in pending for another week, then another week to get your payment back. The whole thing can take 30 days to have your money back. Imagine you are buying something important for an upcoming project and money is tight.

This will also encourage a lot of ignorant seller and scammer.
When contacted ebay support they said the change was to "protect" the user privacy, what a bs load that is.

they want you to join ebay plus

    • Yes I joined, was there something i missed?

  • A dispute case can only be open after the estimated delivery date.

I'm in a situation with this right now, but it makes sense. You paid $X to receive [goods] by [date]. Only after the date passes can you say you haven't received the goods… so as annoyed as I am, can't really see a reason to complain.

    • Thanks for the link, i was looking for this as they removed it from the menu. Not sure if it still works but will try and report.

    • "This Feature Has Been Deprecated"

  • I almost got caught in this. Email ebay and they’ll set it up. I successfully got a refund on an item claiming to be genuine which turned out to be fake.

  • You wait until the expected delivery date before disputing. I don't see the issue?

Yes wont be an issue if you are rich and have money lying around and is not pushed by a deadline. And sometime a quick discussion can save a lot of headache. Communication and expectation is the key in a transaction don't you think?

  • Definitely not a good thing for buyers. Was very handy for local pickups as eBay messaging can be quite slow.
