Delays in Porting of Phone Numbers

I am waiting on a port of my number from Jeenee to Belong.

I received this message via the Belong app

Have you recently moved your Mobile number to Belong

There is an industry wide outage affecting the transfer of mobile numbers from other providers since the 25th July.

If you have requested a connection to belong with your existing number you may have problems receiving calls or text.

We're sorry for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience while the issue is being fixed. Once the issue has been resolved you will automatically receive a notification from us

Anyone shed light on what the issue is?

Thanks

  • I ported from Amaysim to Coles Mobile yesterday, after 26 hours it still didn't go through. I contacted Coles tonight and they called Amaysim and it went through in a few minutes.

  • I ported from Lebra to Amaysim this afternoon, through in about 45 minutes.

  • Started port from Kogan to Amaysim on 24th, contacted today as still not working, they escalated to Optus, says could still be up to 5 business days. Strange that the Amaysim SIM rings but its on a PAYGO not 1GB unlimited and Kogan SIM still shows coverage instead of emergency only. Lucky this is secondary number i just use for data and free stuff

    • Yeah, happened to me to. Amaysim to Belong, ported 10 minutes after usual porting times opened, which is generally strange since it usually takes 10 minutes after submitting a request regardless of the time. And both sims were active and texts were going to Amaysim rather than Belong but calls were going to the Belong sim.

  • Ported from Vodafone to Lebara been struggling since 19th. Went through today. Lebara said it effected all providers and was caused by optus

    an industry wide outage

Government ID checking system failing again?

So after committing war crimes in Iraq, creating ISIS, to make us a terrorist target, the government inconveniences the entire population by having mandatory id checks on people where there is no suspicion of committing an offense.

The Australian people voted John Howard back into power about a year after committing war crimes so apparently it was cool with them.

It takes a very interesting mindset, to turn a post about mobile phone number porting into something political.

But no - you've done it.

Actually the sad thing is that the telecommunications act under which mandatory reporting etc comes, has been there before world war2. But Diji1 just loves the DIgi's

In a mistaken belief that everyyone reading such posts will change their votes to a socialist one,( ironically past incarnations of such types of government have tended to restrict entire populations even more)

All good so far, the transfer has been made. Guess while it took longer than the 4 hours, it was less than 24 hours.

  • just wondering, do calls and everything work well?

      Yes everything is working fine

      • Very tempting then, it looks very cheap.
