Jetabroad (Flight), Real Bargains?

Hi,

I was looking for cheap flights from Brisbane to Paris and found some good bargains on http://www.jetabroad.com.au
The price is really good, it's for July-August return, 2 adults, 1 child, 1 enfant and total cost is $4700, cheapest I've seen

But when I get to the payement, I keep on getting an error message saying there's a problem with the network or booking system

So real bargain or fake to attract customers, then showing error message and you end up buying a more expensive flight???

Anyone bought from them before?

Cheers

  • Never heard of them. How much are flights from other sites or travel agents, if its not that much more then is it worth the risk of losing your cash to a scam site?

  • It's a legit site, http://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/jetabroad.com.au

I've had that issue in the past for other sites when flights were on the cusp of changing prices. E.G. United airlines sale until 14/2, found that prices remained in system until after the date but when trying to book it didn't work.

I wouldn't use Jetabroad unless they have a great Paypal cashback promotion running. Got 20% cashback on a flight to the US.

  • I used them with a paypal promotion, havent used the flight yet, but I did find they gave me pretty crappy seats, SO when I asked if I could move further up then answer was Yeah Sure, where do you want to seat, when I replied they said, NO the ticket you purchased was CHEAPER than normal prices so I had to sit further down the plane. WTF… I also noticed they charged a lot more $$$ to change your flight schedual, a lot more than the Airline would have. I wont be using them again.

    • Yes, they were more expensive than buying direct from airlines but much cheaper after the cashbacks.

Best thing to do is once you get your confirmation of booking is to go to the airlines website and pick your own seats. The majority of time I fly United but occasionally book from elsewhere. Go to United, then go to seatguru to find the best seats, then select the seats from United's system. Make sure to regularly check that you have the same seat number (every couple of weeks) as if they switch planes and your seat numbers are not available, they will put you wherever.

  • For the flight I was looking at, they are $1000-$1500 cheaper… it's with Korean Airline, 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant return from Brisbane to Paris in July-August (peak period), for $4680, that's very cheap…
Sent them an email, they replied and said there was something wrong with the system but could get me seats…. but believe it or not, I had a closer look at the email, and instead of the 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant, the detail was saying only 1 adult, 1 child and 1 infant for the same price…. and there were lots of mistakes in the names and they put me as the infants…. etc so genuine error or on purpose thinking I wouldn't read the fine lines…..!
I've sent them an email back with the correct details… will see
Have tried again submitting the request from the website, same error….

Hmmmm, will see, but that site is a bit fishy… let see how it goes, but I may contact Consumer Affairs, they seem pretty dodgy!

  • I thought I'd follow up on this one

In fact Jetabroad have contacted me and have offered to book the flight me at the price shown on the system (au$4689)
However, the real problem was Paypal!
Even if the transaction was cancelled, Paypal have authorized the transaction, which doesn't mean the fund have be debited, but the corresponding amount is blocked. Even if the transaction is immediately cancelled, the funds are only released a week later… As a result I could not book another flight as it would then go above my credit limit
So be very careful when dealing with large amounts of money and Paypal!
I ended up spending a lot of time in emails and on the phone with the bank, Paypal and Jetabroad
The bank was simply asking Paypal or Jetabroad to fax a confirmation that transaction was effectively cancelled so they could release the funds earlier, but Jetabroad have refused invoking some privacy law and Paypal wouldn't for some unknown reason….
I ended up having to transfer a few thousand dollar to my credit card account to purchase the flight

So overall happy with Jetabroad but not at all with Paypal!

  • airasia had some uber cheap paris deals.

there was that QATAR air deal to Iran and then book a second flight to Paris. I assuming iran to paris would be relatively cheap.

    • Not sure I'd like a stopover in Iran, especially at this moment where the revolution is spreading there as well….

    • Had a look on AirAsia, and from/to location are really not convenient (like it has to be Melbourne, departure would be from Gold Coast but there's no flight to Europe from there…etc)
And also, it does end up being more expensive than the deal I got at Jetabroad

  • I've had a lot of problems trying to book infants online. It seems that some sites/airlines can't handle it properly.

    • Maybe you are right, they had to modify the "infant"'s name and remove the spaces a dashes… maybe that was where the problem was…
