Places to Visit in Europe in The Month of December

Hi Everyone,

I have decided to plan my first European tour in December this year (hope it is not too late). I only have 10 to 15 days for this trip. Could you please suggest some places in Europe ( or a tour plan ;) ) that I can cover. Please suggest.

Some tips to save the money on the trip would be wonderful too.

    You know it's winter then there right? Just saying to help narrow down to suitable activities.

        What are your likes then? If cultural, then indoor ones would be favoured, less crowds but shorter hours too. You could also visit outdoor sights but may need to rug up more or less depending on the latitude and risk cancellation due to extreme weather.

      Go to Berlin and Munich and drink Glühwein!

      Also a couple of days skiing/snowboarding somewhere in the alps.

      That’s what I’d do for 2 weeks!

    One thing to remember, there's nothing much to do on Christmas so make sure you avoid that period.

    For winter, I would try Hallstatt in Austria. Also, Prague in Czech was good even in Winter.

    I’d suggest Tkmaxx to buy some jackets.

    Why not go to South Africa or South America ? You will be miserable as hell unless you dig the cold and 6 hour days

    Last year from late November to just before New Year we drove from Paris via Bordeaux, San Sebastian, Porto, Lisbon, Granada, Toledo, Segovia to Madrid.

    It was icy cold and wet in France. We got caught in a blizzard leaving San Sebastian that left us stuck on freeway for 4 hours.

    As we got further south in Spain and Portugal almost every day for the next 3 weeks was clear and sunny with temperatures of about 13C.

    I can't guarantee that Spain and Portugal will have such good weather this year but if I was planning a trip to Europe in December and I didn't want to freeze or engage in winter sports I would consider Spain, Portugal, Italy or Greece.
