Gigabyte GA-PPSH Motherboard - Need Help Finding a Case

Hi all,

I recently acquired this motherboard and have decided to use it for a home hosted Plex server, some VM's and whatever else comes to mind.

I've been trying to find a decent case for it, the specifications say supports EEB form factor however the dimensions are 12"x15.5" instead of the usual 12"x13" (which is also shared by the E-ATX Board size).

I understand that while SSI EEB & EATX Boards share the same 12"x13" size, the mounting holes are different. As long as I can get a few in to secure it, i'll be happy.

Has anyone had experience with this board, or similar boards with the same dimensions & can recommend a case that will accommodate for the large size?

Specs are here:

Thanks for reading!

  • That's a long board. You'll want a really big case, and you won't get any drives in the front.

Try https://www.pccasegear.com/products/25558/phanteks-enthoo-pr… as it claims to suit an EEB - but it's probably still not long enough even with the drive cages gone.

Alternatively, maybe a rackmount case will work better - assuming you can get the right coolers for the CPU's.

I did this about 16 years ago with a dual Athlon machine. It's not going to be cheap, and unless you got the CPU and RAM free, all the speciality components required to make this work will probably make it more expensive than a cheaper modern machine. Good luck

    • I do like the look of that - maybe I will contact Phanteks directly with dimensions of the board and see what they say.

Not too keen on a rackmount case, would prefer tower or even cube style.

Last resort is slapping some wood together and calling it a case, but not keen on that either.

Though why bother? It's just a mobo, not expensive to get another one that's smaller

    • That case isn't too bad & not very expensive either :)

I've already sourced RAM, CPU's and a few WD Red's so I'm pretty keen to go ahead with it

  • Oh wow that's a weird form factor… and it's a weird size even for that form factor.

    • It's a server board - and probably for a rackmount enclosure. They're longer than they are wide.
