You don't know what you need.

You need a Bunnings golf umbrella.

  • I bought https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B077ZPLFXH for $19.99

The price has gone up since then, but it is very sturdy.

The Shelta umbrellas often sold in chemists are quite durable, and fold pretty small. Prices around $20-$25. I am reluctant to pay more (even though the ones like Blunt look appealing) in case I leave it behind. Albeit I haven't left an umbrella behind in the last 20 years, I know I would if I bought an $80 umbrella!

    • Blunt are exceptionally good umbrellas, and at that price you tend to more careful at remembering it.

  • Blunt umbrella. I've got one. Designed in Wellington NZ (a very very windy city). If you can afford it then it's the best option.

  • I needed same years ago, after I went through several umbrella' that were not sturdy enough and got easily destroyed by the wind. I found myself in a cheap asian discount store that had approx 20 umbrellas to choose from. I resolved that the heavier ones were most likely more solid and sturdy (hence the extra weight of materials) . I bought the 1 that was significantly heavier than the others, yet still short/compact and foldable. It lasted through everything, and can easily double as a batton of sorts if required.
Check to feel how heavy it is . Im sure there are some light and sturdy foldable umbrellas, but they would probably be very expensive, as they would need to be made from some more expensive materials to retain strength and still be lightweight.

  • I've the $12 from Costco for 1.5 years and it's been pretty good so far, if it doesnt work just return it no question asked

edit: another option is Xiaomi umbrella :)

  • I've got one of These Senz umbrellas and it's been pretty great!
