    dark almond one is fantastic.

  • +4

This is good news. I wonder how long this price continues.

  • +2

    I'll be stocking up tomorrow!

  • +2

Thanks nocure, normally the lower quality Dairy Fine is $2.00 for 200g, so it's a good deal.

Dark Hazelnut and Dark Almond 👍

  • +2

is this everyday price or specials

  • +3

    Caramel is a winner

    • I don't see caramel?

      • +2

You're right it's not listed. Definitely in store and definitely my favorite. Hopefully it's price has been reduced as well

        • +1

Caramel is definitely included in this deal aswell

        • +1

Yep just bought caramel ($2.00) for the first time today because of DaddysBelt's recommendation and it's very nice. Will be buying more soon.

        • @WatchNerd: Where is it made?

        • @PJC: In a factory like on the Willy Wonka movie.

But seriously it's made in Germany.

        • +2

@WatchNerd: Last month I found a shop selling, marginally after Best Before date, ALDI Moser Roth Mousse au Chocolat 187g blocks. 4 blocks for $1. I'm down to my last 30 Orange and 8 Cherry Chilli blocks.

          Stay safe…

@josho9: It's absolutely fine. My wife used some yesterday to make Rocky Road. On Tuesday the same shop had these dated Best Before July 2018 for $1. I only got 15 because they melt easier than solid chocolate.

  • Another winner from Aldi.

    • +2

dick smith said Aldi are shit/criminals/cheats etc

      • +9

        No chox for him! Next!

        • Whenever I see "Next!" online I will always think of this gem.

      • +2

You shouldn't take people with dementia seriously.

        • +8

          You're saying Dick is nuts?

        • +2

@Cluster: people don’t leave woolies or coles where dick sells his products and go to aldi ….his problem is the choices at coles and woolies …and often they have nutrigrain heavily discounted or comparable jams ….
some aldi products are better than what you get at coles or woolies and you don’t need to wait for the 1/2 price special eg aldi chocolate is always great value compared to coles or woollies offerings.

        • @Cluster: He's Dark Hazelnuts.

      • +4

He needed a scapegoat. Many of ALDIs products are produced in Australia, so they do more for this country than many of the other multi nationals flooding Colesworths shelves.

        • Well said, sir.

Dick Smith is an dinosaur angry at the world for passing him by

        • Imagine if we had people like him in government, oh wait….

      • Dick's only issue with Aldi is that he didn't think of that business model first, though arguably he had it 40 years ago with DSE, but he sold out.

  • Choceur chocolate is both delicious and good value. At $2 I'll be backing up the truck at my local store.

  • +1

White chocolate one was good, as far as blocks of solid sugar go.

  • +2

Choceur Milk Hazelnut Block Chocolate 200g this one is good,

unfortunately they dont make the organic milk chocolate anymore in the 100g packaging. that was awesome.

    • yep my fav as well and has a heaps of hazelnuts in it.

  • +1

I believe this is a permanent price drop. Can anyone confirm this?

    • Good question.

    • +6

Yes, it is a permament price indefinitely. Will at least be this price for 1 month.

      • i noticed for these super savers that it last only a couple of weeks than it goes back to full price. other products then become super savers so there's an upside :)

  • -6

    Cadbury all the way.

  • Never had this. Does it compare to Lindt?

    • +5

Pretty much the entire range is delicious and silky smooth. At $1 per 100g it just cannot be beaten by anything else.

I personally favour the dark and dark/hazelnut varieties.

  • Chocolate price seems to be down across the board lately, lots of $2.50 Cadbury specials when they use to be $3. Also seen 85cents for the small bars, normally $1. This Aldi stuff is not too bad, should be kept at this price to remain competitive.

  • How do these compare with Lindt in terms of Cocoa percentage and sugar?

  • +1

These were already the best cost-benefit in the Aussie market before this promotion, at $13.50/kg. Now, it's simply unbeatable.

  • +1

    I wish I could up-vote this twice.

    • Heaven forfend!

  • Best chocolate, they sold out of the dark, someone did actually back their truck up!.

  • Probably worst chocolate I've ever tasted. Bought based on recommendations here. Went in bin.

    • +1

I didn't mind the caramel, but it is very sweet. Rum and raisin was super average, really should be dark chocolate and better quality rum. Not sure I would buy again when Cadbury seems to be on special for $2.50 these days, also a very average chocolate but seems like better quality than this.

    • Just tried the Dark with Almonds - much better. Won't bother with the Dairy varieties!

  • +1

Had the dark block on the weekend, loved it, thanks for posting NC!

  • +1

This is now back to $2.69 in store :(

Edit: Hmm weird, Aldi website still says $2?!

    • Well that was quick of them.

    • I can't locate my receipt but it definitely was $2.69 2 nights ago at my local Aldi (Sydney Metro). If it's also $2.69 in other states, please report the deal so that mods expire the deal.

      • $2.69 in Melbourne tonight also.

Edit: it's listed in the new catalogue as $2.69 so deal definitely over :-(

Edit 2: reported to mods as expired

        • Thanks!
