I could never trust something from BigW to keep me well protected from the elements while I sleep. That's just a recipe for disaster.

That ain't livin. I use a hammock. If it rains, run another rope above me and drape a tarp over it. Gotta love Brisbane winters 😁

      • What brand hammock? I'm guessing it's not BigW.

        • I bought a few cheap ($7?) nylon ones from COTD ages ago that roll up into a small ball. Before that, a $10 one from an army disposal store I've had since I was a scout in the 90's. Be prepared!

        • @thebargainhunter: Oh I'm plenty prepared but hammocks aren't my thing anyway. I'll stick with my one man tent.

    • I agree with what you're saying, but I've had ok experiences with OzTrail stuff before.

I wouldn't take this swag up into the High Country, but a pretty good price for a backyarder for the kids..

      • Yeah I could use this for backyard/car camping but I sure as hell wouldn't even touch it for a multi-day trip into the proper wilderness.

I have a Oztrail Longreach Swag and regularly use it in the high country and it works a treat. They are built better then certain adventure k ones. In saying that mine was also about 4 times the price of them as well. I've had it for a bit over 3 years now canvas is still in great condition. The oztrail swags have a decent canvas on them. In saying that I don't have any experience with this particular swag, but for $59 a single person would be great for the kids or a boys weekend away, if it was a king single id be jumping on it as a spare for when i don't have the Mrs with me (being a single, it will warm up quicker then the large double I have).

    • I've used the adventure kings swag a lot and in some rough spots and long trips, it has held up perfectly fine and still going touch wood. I would highly doubt the quality on this swag is any worse than that one.

Heated camp chair? That's a glamp chair - harden up, peeps!

    • I have some, they are great. I am in Canberra though

  • That swag looks like a human roaster.
