What Alcohol/Liquor to Get from USA?

Hi, what alcohol do you recommend bringing back from USA. Apparently Walmart etc have great prices on lots of liquor (ie. avoid duty free). From experience, what have people found to be great value compared to Australia/Asia.

eg grey goose I see for about US$50 for 1.75L = approx A$38/L
local duty free = $72/L.

Some others (eg. Johnnie Walker) - there is a difference but not as great.

Basically looking for those with the biggest price difference to Asia/Australia.

Looking at whiskies, vodkas, gins, rum, bourbon, mixers, other.

    You would assume local to USA stuff like bourbon would be super cheap?

    sure you might be able to get mainstream stuff a little cheaper. why not buy locally produced stuff from craft distilleries that you cant get here.

    Maker's is one brand that my US friends almost all rate highly and apparently drink a lot, but that I don't see much of here. Might be worth a shot?

    Pretty much all spirits are cheaper in the US than Aus/Asia, but unless you are a BIG spirit drinker, the hassle of carrying heavy bottles may counteract the benefit. Remember also that you can only bring in 2.25l per adult into Aus without paying duties & taxes.
    It also depends on which State you buy your drinks, due to taxes. Alaska, New York & Florida have high taxes, whereas New Hampshire has almost zero tax on alcohol, and if you buy in a Government shop, will be the cheapest. New Hampshire is probably the most socialist of States, and its motto is "Live free or die (from liver disease)".
    I agree with Archi….get something different.

    If you are flying out of LAX then I'd suggest going to the trader Joe's about 2km north on sepulvelda. They have a single malt for $19.

    Fireball whiskey liqueur is one third the price. Cinnamon flavoured product of Canada. Good for shots in winter.
