Ledger Nano s and Offline Security

Hi, I purchased a ledger nano s for my crypto.

What are the steps to store my crypto on the ledger and also to keep a paper record of the keys just in case I would loose the ledger or it would become corrupted.

Before any smart replies ;—)

I will keep the paper copy in my safe deposit (in the bank).

I can do a search on the net but trust the OzBargain community more.

Don't you guys find it funny how everyone buys crypto to "invest" and to "become a millionaire" later on? And I mean everyone. Everyone has the same idea - "buy crypto, get rich later".

But if everyone is buying crypto on the same pretense, who are the "suckers" who are going to loose so that everyone becomes a millionaire? 🤔

    Doesn't make sense.

    • Exactly, for every winner there has to be a loser.

    • Yes, totally not a ponzi…

It's not about how much you invest, but about when you pull out into fiat. Have you even seen the state of the market lately?

Is this the question? It sounds like you have already done it by placing your seed in a safe deposit?

  • I have not done it yet.

I was hoping for someone to reply that have actually done it before and maybe have some suggestions…

Maybe I should use google instead ;—(

    • Print out your 25 word key and keep it somewhere safe (setup instructions come with the ledger).
Do not buy one off EBAY or similar. :)
Download ledger wallet to your PC and from there you install the apps on your ledger that you require (BTC, ETH, TRON etc). Do a firmware update first.

There will be risk wherever you put it, even if it is in a safe deposit box I would try not to mention it, even anonymously on the internet.
