Thorfire C8s with accessories for US $25.50 (~ AU $34.52)

Same popular torch as the past few deals. Comes with the torch, spare o-ring and the lanyard for or you can get all the accessories with it for AU $34.52. Half decent price but obviously shipping will be a bit slower.
I suggest you get your own Nitecore or LiitoKala charger and some Panasonic NCR18650Bs or Samsung INR18650-30Q (The Panasonics are normal drain, protected cells while the Samsungs are high drain and unprotected) if you opt to not get the accessory kit (or even if you do).

Features:
We Upgraded C8s Again: upgraded U shaped tail cap for better manipulation.
Ultra Bright LED Flashlight: Gives out MAX 900LM, brightness honestly rated. Brighter than many cheap made but over rated C8 lights.
Multi-functional Modes : High/Mid/Low/Moonlight Mode with memory, click to turn on/off, double tap to active Hidden Strobe Mode.
Battery Powered: Runs on 1x 18650 3.7V rechargeable battery.(NOT INCLUDED).
Simple 4 Modes + Strobe

Upgraded LED
The XLamp XM-L2 LED delivers up to 20% more lumens and lumens-per-watt of the original XM-L. Driven by 2.8A high current, the ThorFire C8s gives out max 900 lumens on High. You might know other xxFires C8 lights claims to be 1000LM or even higher than 1300LM. If you go to officail site, you will know XM-L2 gives out max 1198 lumens at 3A, 25℃, which is tested in lab. For a flashlight with XM-L2 LED, it's really hard to reach 1198 lumens.

Package includes:
1x ThorFire C8s LED flashlight
1x lanyard
1x spare O-ring

  • Thanks OP. Anyone able to filll me in on what makes this torch so great?

  • Thanks, Amazon sent me a book instead of my torch so I missed out there, will grab this one! Which battery is best to buy out if the two you mentioned? Is it important to have protected cells?

    • +1

If you're planning on going down the rabbit hole of collecting torches then grab the Samsung as it will work in high-drain lights. If not, grab the Panasonic so you don't have to worry about over/under voltage protection.

      • Would you recommend buying the BLF Q8 so you can stop going down the rabbit hole?

  • Don't forget that Aliexpress charges GST now.

  • Testing my Q8 with Panasonic cells, it is so bright it can bright up my rumpus like I have turn on the light.

But I don't think it have 5000 lumens because I only have total 1500 lumens light bulbs, the brightness around the same or may be they have difference counting.

    • From my limited knowledge you need to have a particular type of battery and charger to achieve half the brightness of the sun.

Humans are hopeless at measuring brightness because our retina automatically adjusts to allow a certain level of light in but devices to measure lumens are relatively cheap.

  • My one came from Amazon last week.
Got 2 Panasonic 18650 GA batteries for it (uses 1 and the other is back up) and a Nitecore charger.

Excellent combo and the torch is really bright.

Point it at the roof inside a dark room and it lights up the entire room.
We back onto a forest and this thing lights up everything nicely when I get home from work at night and walk the dog.

Have been waiting for another special on Amazon to grab another one of these as a spare.

    • Point it at the roof inside a dark room and it lights up the entire room.

Just wondering can it light up the entire room like you have turned on the light there? My Q8 light up the whole rumpus and as bright as I have turned on the light.

This one is 900LM and that one claim have 5000LM.

      • Yeah, we have a new house with big rooms and it's just as bright in the bedrooms and pretty close in the huge open plan rooms.
It's not going to completely match the light the open plan rooms, but you could easily sit and read, cook etc with the light it bounces off the roof.
It's a cool white light for those interested.

        • 👍👍

I am also using the Panasonic batteries so far OK, I have tried some Keeppower from friend and no difference.

  • Looking at reviews, this torch seems to have low voltage protection. The light starts to flicker when voltage is low. Makes it safer for using unprotected cells.

  • Can you zoom the beam? If not, does anyone have any other good recommendations?

  • Hi guys
Looking for suggestions,is this one is better than Astrolux C8 XP-L HI 1300Lumens 7/4modes EDC LED Flashlight? Astrolux is in sale on Banggood and it costs 30 dollars.

    • Astrolux will be brighter initially with good batteries but won't hold out as long.
