Soeasy Travel SIM Cards Are Duds

So after a few ‘bargains’ posted her by soeasy.travel I’ve purchased two 4G travel SIMs from them.

First sign of concern, their postage guarantee times are anything but guaranteed. Mine arrived well after 2 weeks despite at check out saying within 3-5 business days.

Second sign of concern.. when I emailed them to ask about when I would be receiving the SIMs they didn’t bother replying and have not replied since.

Having used both SIMs now throughout a 3 month backpacking trip in Europe and the Middle East.. I can inform you that despite them advertising 4G connectivity at no point did it ever go past a very slow 3G connection. Half the time it was on E (edge) which meant I had no access to the internet.

Not only that, but I left a bad review to warn other potential buyers and I’ve now noticed that they delete reviews from their site.

Beware people. There are better SIMs you can purchase once landing in Europe

I agree with this. The trouble is they are mostly Three sims from the UK which have autoroaming. Given that it roams you have no guarantee of a stable 4g connection. I've given up these sims and bought locally when I reach Europe.

  • I absolutely agree. I ought an O2 Europe sim, which turned out to have nothing on it. So they basically sent me an empty sim card, for about $30. O2 gives those away for free in the UK, and then you go and top them up yourself..

So the bottom line is, do not buy from them. Just buy a sim card when you land wherever it is you're going. At least it'll work.
