Rent a truck or van, and move yourself. Maybe with help of a friend or 2 (or more).
There are sites where you can rent a van privately (off an individual instead of through expensive rental place)
. Carnextdoor site, you can even rent a van by the hour.
Maybe try airtasker , there is no obligation in listing task on airtasker, and seeing what people offer to do the job (could be dodgy though) ..
Move yourself, or with help from friends if possible. Maybe shout them some drinks and prepare a nice meal to thank them, or even pay them.
If you move yourself, you know your things will be looked after .
If you want to go through a proper rental place for the van or ute, there is sometimes a deal, where if you rent for half a day and take it in the afternoon, then you return the next day ie. You kind of have the overnight time as a free bonus.LOL, I used to do that when I had friends, now I need to hire able bodies :)
BTW for others benefit, I did use https://www.twomen.com.au they did a good job with reasonable price without any hidden chargers or slackness.
yeah I rented a 3 tonne Europcar van, driveable on a normal license, to move from Canberra to the Snowys a while back
