Cashrewards Accepted Then Withdrawn

HI All
I have an interesting situation. I booked a hotel via hotels.com and accepted the cash rewards options.
This was back in April, anyway I noticed it didn't appear in my pending items (which has happened a couple of times, because of ad-blockers)
So I logged a request and it appeared in my pending transactions after about a week.. Fast forward to 2 days ago, I get an email saying that hotels.com have checked and I didn't use the cash rewards link and that the money has been declined.

Since it has been almost 4 months ago, I can't log an appear or anything, so have just accepted it, (it would have been about $50)
Has anyone else experienced this, where months later they denied the claim…

I have used cash rewards for a while and haven't had any issues…

(P.S My trip isn't till November)

    A pending transaction doesn't necessarily mean that your cashback has been approved. I've also had pending transactions later declined, but that's because I didn't follow the terms, e.g. used a coupon code which wasn't advertised on CR.

    Hi craigmate. Your untracked transaction was added to your Cashrewards account after you contacted us. This is the normal process for all untracked claims providing there's a valid click to store. You had a click (with AdBlock enabled) so we sent your details to Hotels.com for them to investigate. They've since responded that their analytics show your transaction did not track because it was attributed to another channel for any of the reasons listed below (and/or because Cashrewards was not your last click before purchase):

    Use of any coupons and/or incentive offers/links/secret prices (including Amex/Mastercard/Visa discounts) will invalidate any cashback and/or any cashback claims, including our cashback guarantee, unless specifically listed on this site.

    So even though your title says 'rewards accepted then declined', they were only ever in a pending status until Hotels.com responded one way or the other. We need to follow this process in order for us to query the merchant on your behalf. We don't decline transactions or claims - the merchants do.   • I always seem to have a problem with cashrewards when booking hotels. My main issue is with Agoda but I think I may have had a problem with Hotels.com as well.

  • Hi. I've has problems with cash rewards and light in the box. I purchased 3 identical phones and only one of them I received cash back. I disabled add blocker and browser firewall. When i disputed i provided evidence via screenshots receipts and emails, but the time stamps didn't match… What they don't get is the time zone of NZ / Australia and China are different, so of course the time stamps on the emails and invoices are gonna be slightly different by a few hours.
