LPG Gas Conversion

Hi All,
I'm looking at swapping my car to gas, so naturally I'm looking for the best price. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks.

the government is about slug lpg users with a new tax. make sure your economics takes this into account.

    • Hadn't heard of that yet :) Thanks.

For anyone interested, I've been calling a whole heap of places for quotes after rebate, the cheapest I've found is around $650-$750 with a reconditioned tank (second hand), or for a completely new system around $900-$1000.

A few things I've been told:
      A) Since the rebate is set to be lowered as of June 30th, you'll want to get in early before they get booked out.

With the number of places offering LPG conversion I wonder if this will be a huge issue.

      B) Second hand tanks do not meet the requirements for the rebate.

This is untrue, after calling the rebate hot-line for a straight answer they've confirmed that second hand is fine.

      C) With the government fishing for money after the Queensland floods, there has been rumors of the rebate being cut off early.

  • If your after lomg term savings go an injection system,it's an extra 1-1.5k but the extra efficiency will be worth it,also there's much less of a power loss eg.my car only losses 3.2hp@wheels when switching from petrol to gas.

    • you had it dynoed?
