I purchased a lamp that takes the small edison screw globes max 8w. I am having trouble finding anything above 5w. Does anyone here use anything similar and could recommend good LED globes that are brighter?

I wanted a brand name bulb only, and that's probably why I went with what I did. If you're not after a brand, then I'm sure you'll find similar bulbs on ebay as well (probably cheaper).
Yeah I was too, just thought I'd grab it until I find something better brand name.
@dylo: If you do find a brand name one, please could you respond here so I know as well? I've never been able to find something better than a philips thing that outputs I think about 500 lumens or such (can't remember exactly).

Yes, IKEA have E14 lights. There's a Ledare bulb with 600 lumen output - maybe not as good as your SAL - but the price might be good.
I was on this boat a while ago, and figured that's about how far it gets. The brightest one I found was a philips bulb from bunnings, but can't remember the model number now although it should be fairly simple to find.
