$100 for G-Star jeans is such a rip off, even if this compares well to the retail price. You can get Japanese-made selvedge denim in the same price range.

Also, URL is wrong; should be g-star.com

Thanks Jump22…You reckon this is a rip off…? Well not for those who pay $290-360 for 1 pair of jeans…!!

I own heaps of jeans from Japanese to European.. but I'm a gstar fan.. hehe!!

I think the G-Star is very expensive for what it is; mediocre quality products made in India or China with some of the highest markups in the business. Making something for $5 and selling it $300 doesn't endear me to the brand at all; $100 is still overpriced to my eyes.

        • So what brands or where can you get Japanese made selvage denim for the same price range?

        • say that to Gucci, LV, Prada & more….

        • anarky: See my reply to tom88 below. :)

davidl2: Gucci, LV and Prada have very high markups, but their markup percentage is not as high as G-Star Raw! At least their products are Made in Italy and have reasonable quality (Gucci and Prada quality can be iffy, LV is generally excellent but I personally hate their overly branded items).

    • i like $2 thongs

  • Nice find bansid +1
Shame i dont wear Gstar… its a bit too pretentious a brand 4 me. LoL @ ppl who spend >$100 for jeans

  • Any other cheap items at the sale? say under $50?

    • Heaps of tees under $50..I think they around $30-40 and similar for shirts, women tops, designer sunnies, belts, shorts etc!!

To call this a bargain…. Proof I have no idea when it comes to fashion :P That said I don't understand how fashion and being tight go together.

Guys in all honesty..people previously have put 25% off deals for G-star.. I wanted to share 70% off with you all….Take it or leave it…

Don't take it personally. For people who are willing to pay this much for jeans, I'm sure it is a bargain.

Sorry if my comment came across as harsh, but it's really hard for me to see G-Star jeans for $100 as good value. My comment was in no way a personal attack on you, and I appreciate that you took the time to share. Note that I didn't neg your deal, since I did think others might find this a bargain. Part of what makes this site great, I think, is full and frank appraisals of bargains that get posted so that we can separate the good from the bad. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

gstar is not that good. all the asians and middle eastern people wear it. the tshirts are not interesting, they just slap GSTAR across the front.. the jeans are crap quality denim, some of them look okay though.

I preferred the warehouse sale in Sydney last year where all Lee jeans were $50 and lacoste, bensherman etc Tshirts were $10-$20 each.

    • loool loool! I hope people didn't neg you because of you saying 'all the asians and middle eastern poeple wear it' - I see it with my own eyes at Parramatta on thursday nights, probably more of the latter. And i guess for them, wearing these brands make them awesome, but only in large groups. (also allows teenagers/young adults to behave however they want)

      Hate the ultra PC world.

(oh and im one of these people, but don't necessarily wear g-star. g- story on the other hand…. kidding)

@bansid thx for the share mate, good price for gstar stuff.

@jump22 if you're gonna rag on a guy's effort to share something, can you at least please tell me some of the names of the brands of japanese denim that you can find for the same price range and where I may be able to purchase em?

      Sure.

Bassike is an Australian brand, mostly made in Australia but their jeans are made in Japan from Japanese denim. Normally costs around $300, but right now they're having a factory sale in Sydney (Melbourne soon) until the end of the week where all jeans are $80: http://www.f-t.com.au/blog/bassike-sydney-summer-sale/

There's a wide range of cuts and styles available, but there was a big crowd there tonight (~100 people, with a queue out the door) and stuff might sell quickly. One example of their jeans (there are many more styles available in store which are no longer on their site): http://www.bassike.com/bu1000_classic_slim_universal_denim_j…

Chronicles of Never is another Australian brand from one of the founders of Ksubi; their jeans are Australian made. Normally cost about $300, but could be had for $50 during the recent Boxing Day sales.

A.P.C. (http://usonline.apc.fr/catalog/products/jeans/mens) is a French brand that uses raw Japanese selvedge denim; Dior Homme copied their cuts for their own denim line. Normally sell for about $150, can be had on sale a few times a year for $100 including shipping from various internet retailers (check out Incu in Sydney/Melbourne if you want to try them on in person before buying). Better to buy from a UK store since you can get an additional 20% off (no need to pay their VAT).

Oki-Ni (http://oki-ni.com) had jeans by Atelier LaDurance recently on sale for about $120. These jeans are Made in France from Japanese selvedge denim.

There are plenty more examples of better buys, but sales come and go, and my comment is already getting long. $100 for jeans isn't cheap. $100 for mediocre quality jeans Made in India or China is obscene. If you want to spend $100 on jeans, there are brands out there with significantly higher quality. That's all I'm saying; it wasn't meant as a personal attack on bansid.

  • Nice work @bansid.

Every time someone posts a G-Star sale, there are lots of hater comments that rarely have anything to do with the brand itself.

  • Don't mind the haters. If everyone thought like that nothing would ever get posted.

OMG Sony TVs are such a ripoff I can get 2 Sanyo at that price blah blah.

@nubzy what's wrong with asians and middle eastern people here?? what do you wear then?

    • Lol I felt offended reading that too for some reason.

    • he wears a piece of shiiiiit skin.

  • thx for the post bansid any nice jeans there or they mainly the standard looking ones (after style with patches etc.)

    • there are fair few styles.. elwood 96 fit etc etc… worth a visit.. i guess…!!
