Is This AliExpress Seller Trying to Scam Me? if So, How?

This is an order for a Xiaomi temp sensor, what happens if I cancel my order? Why won't she just cancel it from her end?

Cancelling an order from the sellers end plays with their rating which reduces SEO Ranking, increases fees etc.

They will refund, otherwise you could just re-purchase and leave feedback..

    • Doesn't make sense that they still have the item available for the same price but.

They probably don't want to lose their listing (amount of sales, feedback etc). The seller is probably waiting for new stock to come in.
I am assuming AliExpress follows a similar format to eBay in terms of seller expectations. If you cancel too many orders due to a shortage in stock, there is the potential for the seller to be banned for life! (not joking)

I'll make sure not to tell anyone you said that

  • money paid to aliexpress is held in escrow by alipay. the money is only given to the seller on confirmation of receipt of the goods (or if the time limit for delivery is exceeded).

just cancel it -you'll be fine.

  • They're trying to scam future customers / AliExpress. Don't help them out, IMO. Lodge the dispute.
