Multi-disk CD player

Not for me personally. I had a look and most hi-fi systems only have a single disk now. I was asked specifically for one with multi discs (3 or more). The sound output really doesn't matter that much, its just for an older person to listen to their music but they don't like changing the discs.

Selby Electronics has 15% off storewide at the moment. Try the Onkyo 6 disc carousel player for $424 delivered?

    • Owned this since late 2010 and still working great. Nice player. You will need an amp and speakers as well to go with this.

  • What equipment do they have?

A second hand 5 disc player would require an amplifier and speakers. Player ~ $200 upwards from eBay.

CDs can be converted to FLAC files and played via a computer. That's what I do.

    • They don't have a computer. They just have heaps of old CDs they play.

I was hoping to find a little 'hifi' system with a cd changer. They seem pretty rare these days, they used to be the norm.

      • It is very rare to find a mini hifi AIO that has multiple internal CD changers as they are usually contain a single CD player.

        Best bet.

Purchase an AV receiver with speakers and then add a 5-Disc Carousel.
As mentioned from posters here, is that you can either buy new or Second Hand Gumtree.
You can also go to Cashies
Personally, I would buy from Gumtree if they are local and they can test.
        You'll save heaps.

        Cheers

      • A modern MP3/FLAC player can store between 2 and 3 bajillion CDs, so little use for them I suppose.

        • Lol agree .. but then you need 3 quad-zillion years to rip all megamillion individual CD tracks into a FLAC file :P

Tonnes on gumtree for anywhere between $100 and $400.

Check local places like salvos, and other op shops. They usually have heaps of older tech - I've seen vcd players, cd changers, and other cool equipment that I wanted in my youth, but never could afford.

They run on 12V and need a CD head unit and then the compatible stacker.
Then on top of that, you need a 12V transformer to power two units (head and stacker) and it will sit on the table will all cabling exposed and look crap.
Furthermore, you need car audio speakers as i believe that they are 2 Ohms.

Moral of the story, he should stick to a unit that is designed for home indoor use :P
