Options to Stay in Sydney for NYE Fireworks

Hi All,

Its been on bucket list to travel to Sydney for NYE fireworks along with family. I want to stay in near by hotel where fireworks can be seen from. I know it wont be cheap but what are my best options?

    If you wish to see fireworks on a nightly basis just drive around certain areas in west Sydney.

    The most budget friendly is the sydney harbour YHA (they have private rooms as well as dorms) but it sells out in April.

    Campervan and try and get an edge position at a multi-level carpark.

    I got to see the fireworks last year.
    I couldn't find a hotel cheap enough as I had planned in November.
    So, I booked a cruise instead, which left at 6 pm and went on till 1am.

      Agree. I've seen them a few times from a small boat - albeit many years ago now. Not sure if it's allowed now but there were even kayakers amongst the bigger boats. The view is great but the sound is even better.

    How I did it, book a hotel away from syd cbd, about 45min train ride, save some money their then spend it on cruise. Which is bit $$ but worth it (best adv point since no need to line up any good spots).

    Why a hotel? Have you not heard of Airbnb?
