ACL Tears and Non Surgical Options

Been following this since last year. Very interesting read. I would urge anyone that has been recommended surgery for an ACL to reconsider.

  • A slight tear is not the same as a full tear, also people have mitigating circumstances, what works for 1 person may not necessarily work for another.

    • From a cursory read of the first link, the case report is about a full substance tear with separation on imaging.

Sounds like what you'd consider a substantial, if not, full tear.

I'm probably someone who is surgically biased but the links provided actually had substance and I'd have more interest if it was my field or have personal experience with the injury.

      Alas, my ACLs are stronk.

    • I tore my acl in the summer and I didn't have surgery. I just strengthened my muscles after 3 months and after 6 months I couldn't feel anything under high loads.

      • What did you do to strengthen your muscles?
