Audio Player Options - Advice Needed Please

Hello dear fellow Ozbargainers, I am currently looking to buy a High Res audio player to use as my main music player.

I would love to hear on some of your personal favorite/recommendations that are under $500(my current budget), and here are some of the ones that I am currently interested in right now and I would love to hear your opinions before buying one:

Sony Walkman NW-A45, FiiO X1 - 2nd Generation, Fiio M7, Fiio X5 3rd Gen.

Thank you so much for taking your time reading this and leaving your recommendations.

Human ear cannot discern higher fidelity than 16bit 44.1kHz and resampling occurs if player and source sample rates do not match which creates distortion.

The pointless 32bit DAC product points out "low distortion" as a feature which is hilarious considering there would be no distortion with a sane sampling rate like I dunno, 44.1kHz.

This sounds like the "The human eye can't see faster than 24/35/60fps"….

      • just ask any magician or on a pal 25fps tv show

  • How will you be using it?

    • I will be using it to pair with my ATH M50x to play music since my phone's not powerful enough to handle it :(.

  • Personally I like the A45, but it is possible to get a used NW-ZX1 for less than that if you are willing to use an older version of Android.

  • I have been also looking for a good dap the last few months, i decided on the Shanling M3s. Seems to be the best value for money

    • Yeah, I was looking at the Shanling M0 it seems pretty trustworthy and I will consider it between Sony A45 or M3s. Thanks man

  • I am not sure if you are interested in testing in Sydney, I'd check out Minidisc or Addicted to Audio is also located in Melbourne, Perth or Adelaide. As far as I know minidisc allows you to test the headphone and the player itself.
