What Trackball Mouse to Buy?

I'm so used to getting the m570 from Amazon.com for less than $40, now they don't ship it's at least $65 from what I can see (maybe $60 if I find a good ebay sale) to get one. Since the design hasn't changed in years I thought other companies might have surpassed it.

Any better options around? Elecom looks good but I thought there might be others worth trying.

How often do people go through mice? I've had my MX518 for almost 5 years. I only broke my last one through rage quitting once…

I have 3 m570, one for work, one on the couch and one at my desk. Accidentally left one at an old job once and another I bought for my dad.

Only one has broken - keeps double clicking although I think it's about 6 years old now. Could probably rip it open and try repair it but it's had other issues that make it about time for a new one.

I used to have the Logitech wireless "Trackman" (LOG9043690403 - LOGITECH, INC. Optical TrackMan Cordless Mouse). Unfortunately, it stopped working after years of use, so I searched around and I found the "Kensington SlimBlade Trackball". I have been using it for more than a year and I am happy with it. It took a little to get used to it but it is worth it. I hope this helps :-)

  • The CST L-trac is the best trackball but you're not going to like the price, you can buy it from Amazon and other places.

If you like it you probably won't buy another trackball though and they are made to last a lifetime. It has self-cleaning bearing's which are part of the reason the price is high which no other trackball has anymore.

    • Yeah, ouch. Also looking at a thumb controlled one preferably, although the self cleaning makes it worth it otherwise, pain cleaning these suckers. Thanks.

  • I have used Marble Mouses for 15 years or so, one at work, one at home. In that time, one has died.
Looks like $34 with prime delivery.
If you are a heavy user of custom buttons it isn't suitable, though.
