Fake Sellers on Amazon

I'd seen has been a big issue in the US of fake sellers setting up on Amazon. I thought/hoped wouldn't be such an issue here as appears a few hoops to jump through to sell on there.

Saw today under the Nintendo Switch - Neon Blue and Red Joy-Con seller qinghexianhongkuorongmaozhipinyouxiangongsi9, 1 review of the seller saying item not received. $50 under the lowest price. Someone tried to post as a deal on here and was removed because I would guess appears as obvious scam.

OK.. So how are Amazon just letting this BS happen? Probably one of the most popular products on there, already someone reported not received, an obvious fake name, stupidly low priced… Would they not just block them at least until they take 5 minutes to look into and confirm or not?

I want to follow up or say something to Amazon but there's no one to do so. You try their customer service, I'm not trying to be stereotypical but you do get Sundeep from India who has no input or interaction with the actual boots on the ground at Amazon AU. Like the last customer service guy I had there actually used "do the needful" when speaking with me…

Any other fake sellers on products you've found? Is this a big issue?

And Amazon - cos I know you companies have all alert shit setup for when someone posts on a forum using your name and someone will see this - what are you doing about this? It is this shit that is hurting you most. Letting stupid priced stuff be listed, letting fake sellers somehow? Fix it.

Early in the piece I was scammed for $800 to $1000 worth of CDs,DVDs and TF cards.

Amazon.com.au obviously knew what was going on,however put me through the hoops to retrieve my money.

    Bunch of scumbags.

  • Another one I had found previously is “A Happy Seller”. I actually brought this one up with their support off hand when looking at something else. This seller has a bunch of products 5-10x as much lots of misleading prices (like Amazon will have $2.29 they’ll have $22.29) like waiting for Amazon to be out of stock I assume and people to idly buy?

I pointed it out clear as day to the support person like this is a scam here’s all these examples of them doing it, nothing happens, still listed all over the place, now a 0% approval..

  • Although I'm not the one with loudest megaphone when talking about this, I recon this is what happens when large conglomerates move in.
I think ebay/pay pal has done well to gain our trust, if item not delivered its been resolved for me, thus I will keep returning to ebay for little bits and bobs.
I guess Amazon with its price advantage think people are willing to trade customer service for cheaper prices? I.e. Risk a dud product every now and then but overall save on the lower prices?

I recommend taking it to fair trading, it's one of the things I'm kind of proud to have in Australia, the respect for people to get what they pay for.

Anyhow, I've used Amazon now for 2 things from sellers I knew, remarkably it was matcha tea, it was cheaper on their Amazon then their online store.

    • Now that I can't buy from Amazon US I have no need to use it at all, as the only thing I would buy is the gigantic size 15 shoes my son needs. Australian sizes tend to max out at size 14, and the only size 15s I can find for him are basketball boots. I am still looking for another cheap source of size 15 shoes (in a range of styles of course) if anyone can help me out here. He is on his last pair of decent shoes.

  • Wouldn't it make sense for us to pay Amazon and Amazon pay the seller when the item is confirmed received?

    • Escrow

      • Gesundheit!

  • Bought replacement headphones for my Galaxy S8 phone. They were cheap so expected them to be poor quality, but who knows, maybe they had a bunch of them for some reason. They were listed as genuine and all the rest of it. Received 2 pairs and they both fell apart within 2 weeks.
Received this response from the seller

"hi . should be when post by damage . ,100% official oem headphone 14.95 . but not the retail $ 129 one also you can post back to TEQ 6/14-16 Stanton rd seven hill nsw 2147. we give you full refund or we sent you 1pcs retail packgage one to you that's make you happy ,but we loss a lot money for it so only 1pcs can sent. tell me what would you like to do"

It's basically Ebay if you can't trust the listings, so probably won't bother with them again unless there's a good deal on.
