Advice on Removal of Security Tag

Hi guys

I'm on holidays in Europe. I bought a top in Bacelona about 2 weeks ago, I've only just discovered it has a security tag on it.

I'm in Budapest leaving for Paris tomorrow and this brand is not in either countries.

Would I have better luck trying to get this tag removed in a random store in Europe or try when I get back to Australia?

Please help!!!

  • Have you got a picture of the tag?

    • Im not sure how to post photos… I'm on my mobile. But it is a longish rectangle on one side and a circle on the other side.

I have done this before, I just went into a random shop (with receipt) and asked them nicely, they did it no problems.

i've seen videos where people use really strong magnets

  • What brand was it? It must be a unique one if it’s not sold in Paris.

    • I think it's a Spanish brand - Sfera.

Become a WAG of the Australian swim team and it'll be a cinch.

      Oh, that's gold.

  • Depending on the type of tag, there will be a youtube video on how to remove it yourself. I had a similar issue recently where I bought some clothes while overseas and got home to discover they had not removed all the security tags. Got it off in about 2 minutes with a lighter and pair of pliers after watching a video.

    • I also was successful with youtube and pliers and elastic bands. I also froze the item beforehand in case the tag had dye in it.

  • I just ripped it out and wearing it with the clothing item for a few weeks
