Damaged, chipped, incomplete, factory reject ceramic plates, glasses etc

I’ll be soon opening up a business where you get to smash things, and I’ve exhausted all my avenues to find rejected stock or damaged stock so I’m hoping someone around here might know more and be able to help. Obviously need to be as cheap as possible

  • Go to local opshop sorting centers, they will have tons of smashable crap they dont want. Go to harveys better ect ask to swap 2 cartons beer for old washers ect that people can sledge hammer

    • I’m in the appliance industry myself so I have the washer & appliance side of it covered. Op shops are defiantly on the cards it just depends how much they can supply on a on going basis

      • Not opshops, the sorting center. Get in before its sorted into good stuff and offer to haul away the bits you can use so they dont have to dump it. On collection day take a cold 24 pack of coke nd the guys sorting it will love you nd keep you supplied lol

  • Kerbside stuff - Set up a webpage/fb group to chose items and organise pick ups

  • you'd want to check your public liability before you start.
Someone gets a splinter in their eye they'd sue the arse off you.
I remember the old Lone star mexican steak house restaurants. 20 years ago they encouraged everyone to throw all the peanut shells over the floor all of a sudden they stopped it.

    • Public liability has been secured.

    • There's already a similar business called Smash Bros in the Shire in Sydney

      • Same as in Vic

        • Yes that's correct. The Break Room in Collingwood, VIC.

Please think about the bigger picture and the impact of your business on the sustainability of the environment. What if you don't find Damaged, chipped, incomplete, factory reject ceramic plates, glasses, will you resort to undamaged ones?

    • If nobody else wants them they're bound for landfill anyway.

      • Please direct this messages to every other industry that has a bad impact on the sustainability of the environment. If we did that, almost no business would exist.

    • OP is presumably charging customers more than the cost price of the plates/bowls/etc to break them. If people wanted to do that - they could buy it themselves and do it anyway.

      • Yes correct but the OP is also providing them the PPE, weapon and a fun, safe and controlled environment to do it all in and also taking care of all the mess and disposing of smashed things. Customer are allowed to bring there own stuff to smash.

  • why not use politicians to beat up?

    • Smart idea, I'd be a millionaire.

Don't forget to post it as a deal!

    • I just might. Would be a very targeted deal tho for most unless you are willing to drive to attend.

      • Based in Sydney?

        • Wollongong
