Nice. Netflix gift card will come in handy.

    • It seems you can get flybuy points for only one card… is that right?

      • +1

One 2000 bonus points reward per flybuys account (including any linked cards)

  • +4

Perfect way to get 3 x AMEX points for Uber. My Platinum Edge card arrives this week!

    • +4

Exactly same here, just signed up for a Platinum Edge too. Between Netflix and Uber I should be sorted with the 3x points for a while, lol. Thank you Point Hacks.

      • Hope you used the referral link ;)

    • What's Platinum Edge?

      • +1

American Express Platinum Edge card. Currently with 50,000 bonus points on sign up with $750 spend. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/394674

        • -1

          MR points tho :(

          Annual Fee too :((((

        • +1

          @serpserpserp:

1 Platinum Edge MR point = 1 velocity point. You also get a $200 travel voucher each year which offsets the annual fee.

        • @MitchyD1989: Are you able to convert the $200 travel voucher to cash?

        • @Rosace: no

        • @Rosace: but i believe you can sell it on Classifieds for about $150.

i think the points can be used to apply as a credit on my account to offset the annual fee

  • Considering the recent changes in woolies policies, has anyone had any luck buying gift cards with gift cards at Coles recently?

    • the only one i have had success with is buying a Bunnings gift card at Coles

    • yes just make sure your egiftcards is equal or greater than those giftcards otherwise you won't be able to split payments. I always do it at self-checkouts, and you need someone to approve that

      • Perfect, thanks for that!

      • +1

You dont need anyone to approve bunnings gc for some reason.

      • You can always do split payment with multiple Coles gift cards by not selecting split payment for your first gift cards.

    • Doesn’t work anymore.

    • Last Friday I purchased Coles Gift Mastercard with 2 Coles egift cards and the balance paid by credit card.

  • +1

Once per household? Bit cheap… 1 per card/provider would be fairer

How does it work? Is the gift card applied as credit to your account and then used as primary means of billing until used?

    • +1

      Exactly how it works.

      • found out the hard way , had some ebay left and couldn't share it with my mrs account to buy stuff.

    • +1

Is the gift card Flybuys points credit applied as credit to your account

      Is that what you meant?

  • The targeted version offers 10,000 points bonus. So 10 cards. not bad, I think this will stack as well.

    • I dont think you can buy gift card with the offer.

    • Sorry man gift card dont usually account anyone can confirm this?

    • It would probably stack but this one only gets the points once. If you were targeted with the other offer you can get up to 10000 points. So basically if you were targeted buy 10 cards get 12000 bonus points.

      • I was targeted and got the 10 cards, wouldn't this allow me another card?

        • +1

yes another card, or if u got 9 cards and got the 10th during the promo u get stackable points

  • Are there cash advance fees when buying these with a credit card?
    Cheers

  • Supercheap gift card would probably work for me 🤔🤔

  • Do you need to "activate" anything on your flybuys app/website?

    • +2

Nope, just scan your flybuys at the checkout.

  • -5

Op post the Woolies cat please!

  • +2

Thanks was about to get another Netflix card, so this works in well.

  • +2

Looks like another $50 of Uber credit is going on my account! Thanks OP

  • No $100 Coles MC gift card sold in Coles stores near me.(Just only $50 Coles MC).
Do anyone know where to find it in Sydney?

    • +2

remember seeing it in Broadway store.

      • Thanks

  • Will you still get bonus flybuys points if you use flybuy dollars?

    • +3

Good luck trying to use flybuys dollars on gift cards; didn't work last time I tried

      • looks like its in the T&Cs: FB$ may be used in a transaction at a participating store as payment or part payment for purchases (excluding gift cards, itunes cards and smoking/tobacco product purchases).

        • How's egift cards? can I pay by egift card for gift card purchase? Thanks

        • Yes as long as you don't split the payment.

        • @sydracing:
Last Friday I purchased Coles Gift Mastercard with 2 Coles egift cards and the balance paid by credit card.

        • +1

          @Yola: thanks

        • @capslock: thanks

        • @Yola:

I just purchased a new Coles egift card and noticed the conditions do state that it cannot be used to purchase gift cards. So you just need to find a school/uni student who maybe does not know all the rules.

        • @Yola: Interesting! Are you saying you manage to do Split Payment with multiple Coles egift card for your Coles Prepaid MC gift card purchase? Was this done at self serve counter?

        • +3

          @F1ngolf:
You can always do split payment with multiple Coles gift cards by not selecting split payment for your first gift cards.

        • @andylch:

You can always do split if you don't split?

Can you explain that again please?

        • @andylch:

To the one who negged me, try it by yourself first before doing your stupid move here.

        • +3

          @CVonC:
The system will force you to split if your balance is not enough.

        • @andylch:
          I agree.
Say you are buying a $100 GC, just select payment as an eGiftcard(with balance on it as $20), the system processes it and takes back to the payment screen with pending amount as $80 and repeat from there.

        • @spk:
Does it ask for any staff intervention when the egiftcard balance in not enough? Or can you just go ahead with the next egiftcard?

        • +2

@maxi: just go ahead with the next

        • @spk:
          Thanks. Will try next time.

        • @andylch: Thanks!

    • -1

      yes 100%

  • it says per flybuys household, so does it mean that you get it if you have 2 flybuys under different household even if you share the address?

    • +4

As long as each card is attached to a separate account (flybuys household) you can earn the bonus points. The mailing address is irrelevant.

  • Now I have a active offer with my coles credit card and email which gives 1000 points for $100 Visa Coles prepaid card combine this gives me 3000 points = $15. So I’m paying $85 after the points!!!

    • +1

      You're paying $90 after the points, there's a $5 card activation fee.

    • Visa Coles? Do you mean Mastercard?

  • Can you use the Coles prepaid MC anywhere?

    • +1

Yep, anywhere MC is accepted, so pretty much everywhere.

      • Use a prepaid MC to buy another prepaid MC?

  • +1

I'm currently on one of those 4 weeks spend $x per week things, do gift cards count towards that?

Edit:Nevermind, read the fine print, it doesn't.

    • The guy wouldn't even give me the little shop things when I bought mine :(

      • +1

The guy was doing his job correctly:

2.4 The Qualifying Spend is calculated after applying all savings and discounts and excludes the purchase of Coles Insurance purchases, iTunes cards, gift cards, Coles Mobile plans, liquor, fuel, tobacco and tobacco related product purchases. Other products may also be excluded at Coles’ discretion.
Coles Little Shop Terms & Conditions

Otherwise people would just buy gift cards so they get more little shop items.

        • I figured as much, just found it slightly annoying

  • Can you use the uber voucher for uber eats?

    • +2

Yes you can. The gift card turns into credit on your Uber account which you can use for Uber eats or Uber rides as you please.

    • yes 100%

      • You're pretty sure about this stuff, aren't you? ;)

  • I bought 10 last week and got flybuys on all of them

    • As in the bonus points? Or just the standard points?

  • both the bonus points and the standard points for the purchase

    • +1

On the one flybuys card? Or ten flybuys all unlinked to each other and not under the one household?

  • I had the targeted offer last week for 10 gift cards. Now with this offer I can get one more

  • For those with an existing uber account and linkage how does mass buying uber $50 card works?? Is it simply load the voucher # to your uber or is it quite fidgety for when your in a hurry i.e. need to add the voucher in qs your trying to book your uber.

If its the latter i may pass. Or do you need to be a new uber user to use them??

    • +1

It can be a new or existing Uber account. Just enter the gift card code into the app at anytime and the money is stored as credit in your account to use anytime.

      • That isn't too bad then.

How does the receipt show up? I need to get a work reimbursed taxi trip to the airport and i dont want it to show $0 paid becuase of my voucher, in which case proving how much to reimburse would not be fun.

If it shows say $50 for the trip, less $50 credit i have then at least it is clear cut that my reimbursement is $50.

        • It shows up on the Uber receipt as “credits” for the portion of the fare that credits is used, either as the only payment method or split payment.

  • -2

Will there be $5 activation fees if we buy $100 physical Coles Master Card?

  • Damn, I thought the Ultimate Card For Him could be used at JB… must be only the Kids and Teens ones :(

  • +1

Re: BONUS POINTS can only be collected once per flybuys household

Is that for each brand? E.g. if I buy a $50 Netflix card and earn 2,000 bonus points can I then buy a $50 Uber card would I get an additional 2,000 for the Uber card purchase?

    • Same question.
Want to buy 1 Uber & 1 Coles MC.

    • it isn't worded very well but i would hope based off prev things its 1 x netflix, 1 x uber etc…

    • +1

My guess is one lot of bonus points per flybuys account, no matter how many different gift cards you buy

    • Can anyone confirm only one lot of bonus points?

  • is there any easy way to buy a netflix card and add the credit to your existing netflix so it doesn't take your auto direct debit via google? I think i signed up via google so the subscription takes out every month from google account but very annoyed at always missing out on these netflix voucher deals.. :(

i would disconnect my google auto debit relationship but then past solutions have only involved quitting your account and resigning up? Which I preferred not to do as i assume everryone's profiles and lists are lost??

    • +1

Had a look at their gift cards page, currently there's no other way to do it if you signed up through iTunes/Google Play.

The best you can do if you really don't want to cancel and restart your Netflix account is to keep an eye out for specials on Google Play gift cards instead, they go on sale fairly often.

      • Will google play gift cards automatically be taken as payment for your netflix though??currently the subscription via google takes direct from your credit card??so if you load google play credit will it continue to take from google play first or your credit card as per usual?

Ive seen the google play gift cards a few time on sale or promos but it never occurred to me it could offset my netflix!! Ive been missing out then!

        • When you start a subscription via Google Play, it will renew based on the payment method you chose at that time. So if you didn't choose the option to use your available Google Play balance first before charging your card, it will default to using your card to renew each month. You can check by going to Google Play, tapping the menu and choosing Subscriptions, and Netflix should be there. From there you'll see the payment method it's using, and should be able to change it to use your Google Play balance first.

On a side note: make sure you have the Google Opinion Rewards app, you'll get occasional surveys which give you credit and can therefore offset some of your Netflix subscription.
