Won a Competition, Yay! Only Ships Prizes to US/Canada. Boo!

I NEVER win competitions!

Except.. Today I did, got a really nice email from the editor of a review website I'd entered on for a gaming headset, and I won! Result!, except, I'm in Sydney and they can only be sent to a US address.

Any ideas what the cheapest way to generate a US address for forwarding is? Or should I just email them and tell them to pick another name from the hat.

Edit: Another option, a friend is visiting their relly's in a month or so, and might be able to get them sent there for collection whilst on holidays! (Still interested in possible future freight forwarding though!

I used hopshopgo to get parcels delivered from USA to Sydney. Pretty easy to do. Wasn't cheap for me as I had several packages.

Check out there website and see how you go.

check out the ozbargain list of freight forwarders - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/list_of_mail_forwarders

I've used shipito in the past .

  • Thanks for that! :)

  • Careful, they sometimes impose taxes on the winner as well, depending on the state they send to. Not sure how that works from here tho

    • They're the pair used in the review so they're not 'new' as such and hopefully taxes won't apply, although ScoMo's "GHT" (Gerry Harvey Tax) on anything coming into the country will still try to get me I'd imagine, although I'm not sure how that works as they technically have a value of $0.

  • presented by the prince of Nigeria?

    • LOL, thankfully not, although come to think of it, since I gave him my bank details I've still not seen any of that gold he promised me!

  • One option sell prize to someone in US/Canada . At least you get something from it. Or gift to friend or family that lives there.
