I received far cry 5 the day before release! No prime or anything, however have not ordered anything since
I've preordered a book with prime and they said it will ship before the release date so it will arrive on the day. I'm not sure if they do the same for games but it highly likely.

I have prime and preorder months back for something that was released on Tuesday, but I'm only expected to receive it today(2 days later). They purposely held the item back because I chose the free standard shipping offered to prime, you need to choose the expedited delivery to get it on release day.

I ordered Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate preorder on Amazon. I'm a prime member but I still only get the item 2 days after the release day.
Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate wasn't a game they offered release day delivery on.
I have cancelled all my preorders as Amazon Prime orders aren't sent until the release day, not a day or two early to get it on time. So I have gone back to using mightyape. If you pay for express with mightyape you always get it a day or two early as they send it with one day shipping a few days early.
What games haven't arrived on release day so far?
Captain toad and octopath traveller. There was an xboxone game too but for the life of me I can't remember.
Did either of those actually offer release day delivery. Its not a standard that they all do. Has to say so on the game page.
If they did and you still didn't get them release day then that sucks then. I have 4 games pre-ordered with them currently which I will keep as the vouchers make them very cheap. But after that if they can't do release day delivery then i'll move on.
I enjoy taking a day off work for a good game, and am happy to miss an hour or two after shops open.
But if they miss release day, most switch games are a Friday, so wouldn't get them until Monday at the earliest.Yes, they did say that it would arrive on release day when preordered. Once it hit the day they should have been sent and they hadn't, I cancelled and went elsewhere. One wasn't even going to be sent until the Monday after release.
This is becoming very common in the US and people are no longer using Amazon for games if they want them day one. And it seems like Amazon is doing the same here.
If you have Amazon Prime then yes, if not then high chance you won't.
