Macquarie Bank Marketplace

Just curious if anyone has noticed that Macquarie has just introduced a Marketplace within their online banking with discounted E-Gift Cards for several large retailers?

I think this is amazing and unsure if any other bank is doing this but the fact you can now purchase discounted Gift Cards directly within your bank account is fantastic

I think this may be the final thing to push me to use Mac Bank as my main account and lure me away from ING

The only thing left ING has that appeals to me is the 24/7 Australian Based call centre and the refund of international ATM operate fee's but those I won't use all that often anyways

    not the best discounts as WW giftcards only 4%

    and they raised their HL interest rates, while ANZ & AMP slashed % down lower than Mac.

      Sure not the best discount just more of the fact they introduced this I think is a great idea and I haven't seen it with another bank yet

      I have a similar rewards thing through my work so not too concerned about the actual percentages right now as I can get similar or elsewhere I just like the fact they are introducing some new features on top of a great app

    One thing is that the cards are pretty much instant.
    I usually buy WW at 5% from cash rewards but they can take 6hrs. 4% for 2minutes is pretty good.

    it would be great if it was an automatic cashback applied when you shop at those merchants as a refund. Instead of gift card purchasing.
