Samsung International Model Phones

Hi,

Heads up. If you purchase any product of Samsung mobile phone from an international distributor eg Kogan. Samsung Australia will NEVER service the mobile. This means, unlike apple (who will), if you need a new battery the only way to have it done is send it back to the source country. Please avoid any and all international sellers if you plan on keeping the phone longer than the average battery life, of 2 odd years with these phones or simply accept that when the battery doesn't last the day, you are up for a new phone.

well there are after market repairers that will change it for you

  • Yea agree, you would think so, but try finding one on the Gold Coast, they all say that there is a high chance they will break the screen as the battery on an S7 is glued in and will then charge you for a new screen as well. But if you know one let me know. I'm happy to pay, this wasn't a warranty thing.

    • sorry mate cant help you in sunny brissy. but in Sydney these repair shops are everywhere,

so sad that the original battery on ebay for the S7 is like 30 bucks, you'll probably end up paying at least $100 all up to get it replaced. still worth it IMO anything up to $200 anything more. might as well buy a new phone.

    • drive up to brisbane

  • Happy to drive up to Brisbane, going that way in a couple of weeks, do you know of a store? I would like to check 1st. As all down here keep saying they can replace the battery but if they break screen then I have to pay for a new screen and that's over $200 plus battery, which means just buy a new phone.
Samsung was $110 and was quite happy to pay. Samsung says that due to the privacy act they need to flash the phone and only have the AU software to place back on the phone, this is why they won't service it.
