Going through the ebay feedback - it seems that there's some people that say they received phones that had obvious defects and suggested that they were selling refurbished models. I would be wary that they're selling refurbished models with it being factory sealed. They say that the manufacturer's warranty has run out but they offer seller warranty - hmmmm, why has manufacturer warranty run out if it's brand new?

Edit - Feedback from the last month suggested that there's about 7% of people unhappy with the purchase so if you're in the 93% it would still be good hahah

It could be the other 97% of products aren't as obviously refurbs, and didn't break down in the week between buying and leaving feedback.

I didn't go there. Feedback too bad.
Response wasn't in proper English either.
    Something NQR.

100% not Australian stock, seller is from Malaysia. Many overseas eBay sellers add false locations to the item.

Many reports in feedback of receiving damaged/used/faulty phones or nothing at all, as mentioned above.

    Do not purchase.

  • thanks a lot everyone!!

  • There was a deal at JB this month if you sign up with Telstra you get 500 off the price of the phone. I think it was a 49/month for 24 months plan with 30gig of data. You could conceivably get one for 700 which is Oz stock with full warranty. If you are lucky, they'll even throw in a free home mini. My wife got the deal in July which was 59/month phone free included home mini and headphones. Great deal. Love the phone.

    • I don't think it's a deal as JB staff usually throws extra discount for getting Telstra contract so it's $200 gift card + extra discount for anything else in JB otherwise.

Do not purchase. I cancelled my Pixel 2 purchase and went with Kogan. Yes it's pricier and still direct Import, but at least it's brand new. This seller seems to falsifying a lot, consider their email to me telling me it's Australian stock brand new but somehow manufacturers warranty has expired (even though the phone isn't even 12 months old yet and Google offered 24 months warranty!). Big No from me.

And 93% positive means nothing, they do not sell Pixel phones only. That could be 93% positive on $1 items and all the people buying phones giving 7% negative because being lied to.

  • Did you end up buying it? Tempted myself. With Ebay Plus you're covered for a 30 day return period.

  • I'm also looking for a Pixel 2 XL deal and searching the seller name comes with bunch of scam alerts so probably not really worth the risk.

    I'm thinking about https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Google-Pixel-2-XL-128GB-Black-4G…

witch is $850.45 with the 10% off code.

If you're looking for more reputable seller, perhaps wait till tomorrow and buy https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Google-Pixel-2-XL-128GB-G011C-4G…

for $964.08 with 20% off code maybe? or https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Au-Stock-Google-Pixel-2-XL-Black… for $993.6 for 64GB local stock.

    Open for suggestions.

  • Oh wow. check out this Facebook post on them:
