Aberlour A'bunadh Scotch Whisky 700ml - $103.41 C&C ($110.41 Delivered) @ Dan Murphy's eBay

420
PHENOM

I've been looking for a good price on the Aberlour A'bunadh for a few months as I really wanted a nice Sherry bomb in my small collection of whisky.

This is about as good as it's going to get I think when you take into account the eBay discount.

This is good. Just remember alcohol content is almost 60% so go easy on it. Most whisky have around 40% alcohol

Sherry and Bomb is right. Very good, but packs a punch. Good price

  • Is this fo shizzle?

In my case, yes it is!

  • Any chance you can compare this with Kavalan Solist Sherry Cask?
    https://www.nicks.com.au/kavalan-solist-ex-sherry-cask-stren…

    • I haven't tried it sorry, Hopefully someone on here has tasted both and can provide some advice

    • I haven’t tried that particular Solist, but did try the Solist Vinho Barrique variant which is also cask strength.

A’bunadh has more pronounced burn, whereas the Solist VB was smoother.
VB had really strong caramel/malt tones, very sweet too like most Asian whiskies.

But yeah the VB goes for 3x the price so the A’bunadh is well worth it.

      • Thank you for the input, the one I linked is selling $250 @ Nicks, but it only cost me around $120 when I got it from Taiwan last year.

My fav scotch. You could also try glenfarclas 105.

    • Thanks, Yeah I've heard good things and have been eying the 1L 105 on Nick's, but having tried the A'bunadh a few years back Ive wanted a bottle ever since. Will prob grab the 105 in a couple of months

  • wow, almost 60 proof. Cannot resist.

120 proof (US proof is 2x ABV)

But bloody tasty, I imagine it'd be like kissing Marilyn Monroe back in the day.

so far the strongest one I've tried was Laphroaig Quarter Cask @48% which was like kissing my beaten up chimney (8/10, would drink again).

        • I had the Octomore 7.2 and it felt like I was making out with the swamp thing XD

    • depending on the batch you get, I think it can be slightly over 60% :)

Reviews are good on this batch, I can’t wait!
