Ultraloq Smart Lock Insurance

Hello everyone, I'm hunting for a smart lock for my house and figured I'd wanna try this one. It's reasonably priced and I like the functionalities offered by it (happy to hear any other recommendations as well). I'm just wondering what are the insurance implications of fitting this? It's not a deadbolt so would that generally mean it's not advisable in terms of insurance?

Thanks in advance!

looks like a deadbolt to me

    • Wait so this is a dead bolt? I'm so confused, have been reading up on the differences between deadbolts and other types and I thought this wasn't one

      • the mechanism on the inside works in the same way. Just the key has upgraded to a electronic keypad. That's my take on it best to call your insurer

That is not a deadbolt. It is a dead latch bolt, like what comes with common cylindrical locks. It is definitely not as tough as a proper deadbolt.

oh right i'm with you now. you probably shouldn't buy that unless you have a secondary deadbolt on your door which I guess defeats the purpose of the product in the first place

        • @PAOK11: this is what I figured as well such is such a shame cz it's a pretty good price, the Samsung ones are really expensive for a similar product gah
