Nice post. A reminder to all dads to make every day count with your kids. I know myself we are so caught up in providing for the family that we loose sight of why we do it in the first place. Going to try and spend it with the kids and partner and see my dad. Hope you all have a good day.

    Beautiful post OP :)

This is my fifth fathers day since I lost my Dad to cancer far too young, and while the first one was the absolute pits it does get easier.

Find a nice way to remember him (I still buy him a toblerone every year - I just eat it myself now!) and think about all the things that made him special.

@ pastry - It's my first Father's Day too without my Dad today and we're off to lunch shortly and taking his candle we had at his funeral service.
We will place the candle in the centre of the restaurant table and light it so he is with us.
And we will light his candle at every family birthday gathering including his in the future.
Miss you Dad. Rest in Peace.

Happy Fathers Day to all you OB Dads !

Both my parents passed away a good few years ago now.

When I was at High School a friend of mine's father had already passed away. When people were talking about what they were getting their fathers for father's day he said "lawn seed", I couldn't help laughing. I hope OP isn't offended by the joke.

Spend some time reflecting on how lucky you were to have a good dad.
