Get Wines Direct (157-161 Burnley St, Richmond VICTORIA) have another crazy special, this time on selected spirits. Deal expires this Sunday, 27 February 2011

The same conditions apply as per other specials from this place:

* You must present the coupon to get the deal

* Limit 1 bottle per customer
* Available while stocks last

Not sure about price matching at other chains at this stage, but looking at other GetWinesDirect specials from the past it does seem possible.

        you heard it girls !!!

  • Wished they have store up in Sydney. Booze is so expensive up here. Any one know if the Sydney stores will pricematch?

    • I'm off to Dan Murphy's tonight to see if they'll price match

  • I'm in Melb but I am to far to drive just for one bottle heh..

Nice ploy to get people in the door to buy some other stuff perhaps.

last time dan's tried to screw me over with a coupon that had no expiry.. the corona/peroni one. they said that because a new deal was out that they wouldn't honour it. Now, I told them a new deal does not negate an old one.. idiots.

Anyway, now I am going to get my containership of asian family and Im going to screw over Alphington Dan Murphy's for crossing me. :D

    One a day every day X 50

Edit: Oh and I love that they have pdf'd this and put it on their website.. I now dont have to buy a bunch of Herald Suns!!

  • Anyone tried to price match this yet?

  • awesome! :D

  • +1

I tried to get 1st Choice at Chadstone to match. They told me you needed the actual paper ad.
Can anyone confirm if this was in the Sun or Age please.

    • +3

inform them that it is also on getwinesdirects website so clearly it should be valid! no where does it say that it needs to be a paper ad! theyre just trying to be hard to deal with! theyre being idiots.. I had issues with dans for other offers about supposed expiry..

    • It's on Page 10, Herald Sun 23rd Feb 2011- you might be able to get hold of one in any 7/11 if you're lucky!

best comment by a long way!!

      • lol and I was just thinking of picking one up on the way to the footy tonight.

  • Thats pretty awesome deal. Just print out about 50 copies and give em to everyone you know who lives close to the store.

    • Unfortunately it doesn't work that way… They require actual clipping from the newspaper (even to price beat)… experienced that in their last offer (Corona slab for $30..)

      • Those bastards… they even hosted the catalogue on their own website. You 100% sure a copy wouldn't work?

    • +1

I printed out a stack of them and passed them around the office, and chucked the rest in the kitchen for people to grab.

      • Nicely done Ashlea. If people come into work with a hangover in the next few days you'll know why ^_^

  • That's f*cking brilliant!!!

hey everyone! I just asked getwinesdirect.com whether they would accept print outs from their website as a valid voucher and they said yes and becasue they accept that then dan murphys/1st choice should as well! if not, call up getwinesdirect.com and put them on loud speaker, ask the question and then get your booze.

Good going JDogman. So they arn't bastards they are very nice chaps.

  • This spirits offer appeared in last week's Australian, the Age and Herald Sun (16 Feb).

It only seemed to appear this week in the Australian and Herald Sun (23 Feb).

Can anyone please confirm whether any Dan's will accept a print out from the website?

To date, Dan's has only been willing to beat the price (at $17.90 per bottle) on presentation of an original voucher from the newspaper. I know this for sure as last weekend, I had 4 vouchers (from 4 copies of the Age) and bought 4 bottles of JWR (at different times) upon surrendering the voucher. They allowed me to pay by EFT.

It will be interesting if Dan's accept print outs from the website as it effectively circumvents any way to restrict the number of bottles sold at the discounted price.

    • An advertised price is an advertised price. Their price match policy states they will, and the details on the winesdirect advert simply says present 'this coupon', not 'original newspaper coupon'

Expect them to be tight on the 10 Kays rule, which cancels out 98% of Dan Murphys stores, unless you get served by someone that doesnt care further away ;)

      • +1

Completely agree. Let's see how the big boys react.

        • Yes it will be interesting, they must hate it :)

    Hey all,
Just went to dan's in alphington!

A supervisor called Ricky accepted the web printouts and even asked me where to get them cuz he couldn't find it on the website..

Got a vodka and a gin with the gf…

    Happy buying all..

Edit: oh and he gave it to me for $17.90 so that's a saving of 10cents on top of that per bottle…

    • Nice work.

Have got three bottles so far (Glen Waverley and Dandenong stores), all with vouchers from the actual newspaper. 10km policy has never even been mentioned for all the times I have done this and this includes multiple times with the cheap beer deals from the past too.
Still have 3 more to go, so will be set for a little while at least =D

  • Boo @ Dan Murphys Prahran! Tried to use the voucher and they said they would only take original vouchers from the paper not prinouts. Mentioned that other stores had honoured it but was an order from head office apparently.
Friendly staff suggested i email head office if i had any complaints.
Had bought a few other things as well so it wasnt as if i was just trying to take advantage of the voucher

    • Thats a bit lame.
The voucher is published on the web as well as in print.
The ACCC would slap them on the wrist if they knew, and enough people complained…. not going to happen though…

  • feel free to post any champagne deals here ;)

  • Can you please include sources for this ad in your post?

    • The link to the add is actually directly on the companies website. If you go directly to getwinesdirect.com you can find them there.

      • I meant the newspapers that contain this ad, so Dan Murphy doesn't get clever with me.

        • Ahhh.

          A previous post says;
It’s on Page 10, Herald Sun 23rd Feb 2011- you might be able to get hold of one in any 7/11 if you’re lucky!

I got the HS from the 21st yesterday, so it's a shot!

  • why is booze so cheap in Melb?

    • +2

have you not heard? Melb is awesome.

      • +2

yes, its officially Australia's most liveable city - & almost the world's.

    • because ashlea makes sure we all know how to get it :)

      • +2

I haven't had an alcoholic beverage in about… 5 months. How uncool am I!?

        • +1

          extremely

        • 5 months! That's not uncool - that's awesome. Well done. (By the way - here in Australia we just call them "drinks" - resist the assault of creeping sepo-isms!)

  • OK so me and my mate managed to get 4 bottles from 2 stores (1 per person at each store) using the printed version -

Caulfield - Dandenong Rd store didn't even say anything and just matched it - $17.95
Malvern - (Just off) Glenferrie Rd store said they wouldn't do it but when the supervisor came around he said he would honour it on this occasion - $17.90

By the sounds of things head office has told them not to honour it without the original from the paper but you may be able to get away with it. I don't see how they can reject it as its not limited to the paper version and getwinesdirect.com.au are allowing online print offs. They say that they don't allow online sales but this isn't an online sale its just promoting it online.
