Hello, we hope with the fix priced shipping this is the best deal out there right now. This is a big strong beer so is generally a bit pricier. Cheers, BoozeBet.

  • Shipping is coming up at $15 for me. Any chance of free shipping?

    • Hi, shipping price should be all good now. Cheers, BoozeBet

      • Thanks - sooooooo no chance of free shipping?

        • Hello, not on this particular deal. I hope with the fixed price shipping this is a better deal than anywhere else available on the market right now. Cheers, Boozebet.

  • Didn't these craft brewers get a tax (excise?) cut in ther last budget?
I make (with cans & grain) a choccie stout for ~$1/lt (also with coffee flavours as I use the coffee grinder to crush my choclayte grain), so brewed on a large scale, using all-grain, surely they can bring in 8lt of beer for under $80 (or $10/lt)

    • You are right, but don't forget that they also have overheads such as marketing, branding, wages, commercial rent, etc. And still need to turn a profit after that.

Edit - also this is the resellers price who also has these overheads. The brewing company likely sell to re-sellers for $60 a case or something?

    • Yes
1 July 2019 - even then the impact will be minimal for us the drinking public…

    • I just pour metho in a garbage ban and mix with LA ice throw in a kinder surprise and you have 20 litres of "chocolate" drink for 5 bucks.

Do you really think you should be comparing what you can do at home?

If I can build a PC for $500, why would I pay $6000 for something similar?
I know what the ingredients cost (it's just water, grains, hops & some coffee beans), if I made stout at home in 1000lt batches it'd come down to ~60c/lt.

Coopers Stout (IMHO one of the best stouts in the world), it comes in ~ $7.50/lt, these guys are normally almost double.
Youngs Double Chocolate Stout (even better) is less then this & it is shipped all the way from the UK.

So all I'm saying is why can't these guys do a slab for ~$80?

        • If you can do it your should open your own brewery!

Double chocolate stout tastes very different to local fresh brews btw.

  • anyone tried these?

  • If it was $80 with free shipping I'd buy a case otherwise I can usually walk into any of Sydney's micro breweries and buy a few growler of something similar for much cheaper than this

    • +1

Really? 4 growlers of ABV ~8% beer for around $20 each - tell me where!!!
That's before you spend the $$$ on the 4 empty bottles
…and the shelf life of a growler is?

      • I have a brewery that does PET growlers of 6.5% coffee porter for around that price and don't have to get all 4 at once, or there is always Fat Lamb at $8 a litre 🤣

  • Agreed. This is far, far too expensive for what you get.

For example, St, Peter's cream stout 6.5% 12 x 500ml = GBP26.50. Multiply by 1.32 because you get more beer with the BVB deal.. then by 1.80 for the exchange rate… and the Aussie equivalent price is AUD$63.

Let's say I add on the old "Aussie tax" on top… let's make it 25%… and we still have $79 excluding shipping.

I think the vendor needs to drop it to $80 if he's gonna stand any chance of shifting this!

  • I bought a case of this a while ago. Very nice indeed.

Would buy another but I have enough dark beer at home for now.

  • OP, the shipping is a bit expensive to be honest. Boozebud is $6.90 up to an order of $80 and then free above that.

It's only a small thing but it does make a difference.

    • Hello, fair enough. We did have free shipping above $60 is the past. Generally the cost is added on somewhere, it's just how it's presented to the customer. The total price we are providing is the same as if shipping was included. Cheers, BoozeBet.
