Find Me a Whiskey Deal

Been googling, been disappointed….

Grabbed a bottle of Starward (aussie) whiskey the other week and was really nice. Coupled with the whiskey glass deal from last week that really made it come alive and I could actually smell and taste a lot of the highlights which previously I couldn't. Anyway, bottle's nearly empty but but I can'r find it for under $89. Was also looking at Nikka from the barrel which is highly rated but still around $80 for 500ml. So if anyone is out bargain hunting and finds a good deal please don't be shy in speaking up. Nothing over that price range though. :)

  • A modern Australian whisky, elementally matured for three “Melbourne years”

Hmm, given the price, and the lack of maturation time, I'd be inclined to find something else, with either a better price, or a longer time in those barrels.

    • You've obviously never tried it…

I feel like a bottle of whisky a week might be a tad too much… but have a gander at:

Not knowing your taste in whisky, the Chivas and JW Double Black are solid everyday drinking scotches I think most people would enjoy.

    • Cheers, though I didn't drink it all myself. :)

(And now that I think about it it's probably closer to 2-3 weeks. )

  • Graysonline were doing Nikka last week for around $70, minus $30 off $50 spend using WINELOYALTY18 promocode. Might have expired, but probably the cheapest way to get a decent bottle of whisky short of Duty free.

    • Even then, I've found duty free to be much more expensive than it used to be. Barely any cheaper on some whiskys (if at all) than normal shops

1L bottle for $109.99, the same bottle (700ml) was at Aldi for $79.99. I almost bought the 1L bottle because the value is better, but wife got me the other one for father day :). Can't complain.

  • It's getting more and more difficult to find good whiskeys in the sub-$100 bracket, if you change your mind with respect to your price limit I'd recommend Michters (either their rye or bourbon, both awesome!)

Technically that's one word name and two digits….

  • I picked up Amrut Fusion using ebay promocode Last week from Dans. Just love this whiskey. Also Highland Black from Aldi for 35$. Not too bad for a 35$ whiskey.

  • Thanks all, some good suggestions. :)

  • Don't forget to use Boozle when you've decided on the drink

    • Better prices?

      • +2

Boozle will find you the cheapest price in your area, then Dan Murphys will price beat it :)

  • Bushmills 10yo or Chivas 18yo.

  • I'm partial to Aberlour 12 at the moment which has been $80 at liquorland lately

  • Always search for your booze with Boozle…(I am not affiliated, I just love it)
