    Why discriminate?

    • What if I only have one right arm?!

      • -1

Then you'd have to open the sleeping bag single handed.

    Rated to -10C

    Yeah, no. It's not.

    • Well, at least, Caribee rates it as such. https://www.caribee.com/products/snow-drift-jumbo-10c-sleepi…

    • It doesn't say if that is to any particular test Standard.

In any case, sleeping bags usually have three temperature ratings - comfort, "limit of comfort" and the lowest temperature at which you won't die. So, depends which figure the manufacturer quotes - often the "extreme comfort" one.

      http://www.oneplanet.com.au/technical/our-sleeping-bags/temp…

As a rough guide, the "comfort" rating may be anywhere from 11-25degC higher than the "extreme, you might not quite die" rating. The "comfort" rating is also about 6deg higher than the "extreme comfort" rating.

      • Yeah I think what potplanty said is fair. It's likely survival is -10deg. I'd expect these are suitable for most Aussie conditions. Camping under the stars on the top of perisher may be out however!

    • Yes, it is. Have you ever bought a sleeping bag before?

    • Yep I agree. Some sleeping bags advertise their lower limit rating and I’m pretty sure that’s what they’re doing here.

  • If you are right handed, do you get the left or right zipper?

    • +1

Obviously the right zipper one. Same answer if you are left handed. Because the right zipper one is $5 cheaper.

      • Actually it's the opposite. If you're right handed you get the left sided zipper and vice versa.

  • +1

I got a couple of these many years ago, a left and a right so u can zip them together. Fair warning, they are huge so you need plenty of space for luggage.

    • Huge or jumbo?
